Today, I occasionally entered a ticket record and found that I had purchased a MAC address.
I checked and found that IEEE still made some division to ensure global uniqueness of MAC addresses. For details, see the following section.

- Oui Introduction
Organizationally unique identifier (Oui) is called the "organization unique identifier". In the 6-byte MAC address burned in any network adapter, the first three bytes represent the oui. Generally, this identifier is unique. Therefore, oui can be used to create MAC addresses, Bluetooth device addresses, or Ethernet addresses. Oui can also be used as a company's snap protocol identifier .. Generally, the IEEE Standards Association assigns the first 24 unique organization Identifiers (Oui) to the production enterprises, and the remaining 24 are allocated by the manufacturers themselves.Code.
Currently, oui can only be directly purchased through the IEEE Standards Association. The price is as follows:
Products |
fees |
total due |
publicly registered Oui (Company Name & address on the public listing) |
US $1,825 |
US $1,825 |
privately registered Oui (company name and address not on the public listing) |
US $1,825 + $2,190 (privacy addition) |
US $4,015 |
yearly confidentiality renewal attributes * (for privately registered assignments only) |
US $2,190 |
US $2,190 |
If there is no confidentiality requirement, you only need to pay $1825 to get a 24-bit OUI (16 million addresses can be generated), that is, the publicly registered Oui referred to in the table above, that is to say, the names and addresses of such companies are public, and the public can access the secret. If the manufacturer wants to keep the above information confidential, you can choose privately registered oui. The price is $4015 and the annual confidentiality fee is $2190.

2. Purchase Process
Enter Oui application form in English online. The form consists of six parts:
Part 1 applicant information, including name, position, company name, address, and email number;
The second part is the contact information. If the information is the same as that of the applicant, you can select the check box before same as requestor. If it is different, enter the contact name, position, company name, address, and email number as required;
The third branch information. If your company applies for Oui for the first time, select Yes after initial ate assignment request. If it is not the first application for oui, make sure that the current MAC address usage has reached 95%, otherwise, you will not apply for it. After selecting "no", you need to enter the name of the company that applied for Oui last time in the box and provide the reason for re-application. You also need to provide the company type, parent company or subsidiary company, or both;
Part 4: if the company type in Part 3 is a parent company or a subsidiary, enter the details of at least three associated companies. If the company type in Part 3 is neither, this part is optional;
The fifth part is confidential information. If you choose to purchase publicly registered oui, select "no" for this part. Otherwise, select "yes" and provide the reason. The sixth part is the payment method, currently, the IEEE Standard society accepts payment methods, including mailing American Bank Orders, dollar transfers, and online payment by credit card. To provide an invoice, select the check box before please send a proforma invoice.
After completing the preceding content, submit it online.
If you want to pay by dollar wire transfer, please refer to the payment information and precautions
Http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/oui/wire.html.
Your company can receive the purchased Oui within 7 business days after receiving the payment.
In view of the fact that some companies require less than 16 million MAC addresses, you can purchase IAB instead of OUI. The IAB code assigned by the manufacturer is only 12 digits, so the total number of MAC addresses is 4096. For more information, see http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/iab/index.html. The purchase process is the same as that of OUI. You can submit the IAB application online and make a payment.
In addition, if you are in a hurry, try the following comments:
1. can I find a company to share it with you? 2. Use the unique global number of stm32 to random it? At your own risk? 3. Find the MAC of the oldest device you can find, and generate some near it, which is at your own risk?Basically, the possibility of hitting is very small, mainly because of other risks .... |
