The "pitfalls" and key points encountered during Oracle RAC installation (I), oraclerac
When using virtual machines to build the RAC environment on a physical machine, many "pitfalls" and key points are encountered.
Physical Machine: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-5600U CPU @ 2.60 GHz, 8 GB memory
Virtual Machine Software: VMware ServerVersion 2.0.2
Database software: Oracle 11.2.0.1, Grid
Virtual Machine Operating System: Oracle Linux 6.2
VM installation plan: the local hard disk is 20 GB, the memory is 2 GB, and the shared disk is 4 in total: 2 VOTE, each 1.2 GB, and 2 data disks, each with 5 GB
(1) storage of local and shared disks of virtual machines
I create two RAC nodes and store them in two different folders, for example, D:/rac1 and D:/rac2.
A shared disk cannot be stored in the same location as a VM disk because it can be shared and accessed by two nodes. Therefore, it must be stored separately, for example, D:/sharedisk.
(2) Host Name
One step in installing OREL on a VM is to create a host name. Because there are two nodes, the naming rules can be certain, such as rac1.bisal and rac2.bisal.
(3) Select a partition scheme
There are several options:
1. Use All Space: Use All Space. Delete all partitions and execute the default installation policy.
2. Replace Existing Linux System (s): Replace the Existing Linux System. Only delete partitions in the Linux File System and execute the default installation policy.
3. Shrink Current System: reduce the existing System. Reduce the size of existing partitions and execute the default installation policy.
4. Use Free Space: Use the remaining Space. Use the remaining space to execute the default installation policy.
5. Create M Layout: Create a Custom Layout.
The default installation policy is:
1. Separate the partitions and mount them to the/boot directory;
2. Create a SWAP partition, which is generally 1.5-2 times of the memory;
3. allocate all the remaining space to/partition;
You can also select 5 to define different partition policies.
(4) Select a software group
If you want to install it, You can directly access the graphic interface. Select Desktop here.
(5) configure the nic ip Address
Node 1: set two NICs,
Nic 1: the IP address is 192.168.11.200, the Gateway is 192.168.11.1, And the DNS is 192.168.11.200.
Nic 2: the IP address is 10.0.0.200, the Gateway is 10.0.0.1, And the DNS is 10.0.0.200.
Node 2: set two NICs,
Nic 1: the IP address is 192.168.11.210, the Gateway is 192.168.11.1, And the DNS is 192.168.11.210.
Nic 2: the IP address is 10.0.0.210, the Gateway is 10.0.0.1, And the DNS is 10.0.0.210.
After configuration, You can restart the network service: service network restart to make it take effect.
