The reason why A card Often crashes is that ATI Powerplay's automatic energy-saving technology?

After I disabled powerplay OF THE s205 driver, it was indeed quite stable. Other netizens also reflected similar situations.
In addition, it is better to set the "cpu mode" in "Lenovo power management" to a fixed value, but in some cases, for example, I will restart vs2008 from time to time.

I disabled the virtual memory, as if it was easy to restart.

Install 360 anti-virus-360 security guard does not seem very likely, it will also lead to frequent restart. Is it because their company does not use AMD?

The driver has been downloaded from the official Chinese version of s205!

Statement: This post is based on the Gospel that the genouswhy brother of the CHIPHELL Forum brings to everyone.
I have been worried about this fault and started to think that the power supply is not big enough. If I change the rated W, I will still be stuck on the blue screen until I see this post. This is certainly the reason. Thanks again to genouswhy

The perfect solution for ATI graphics card black screen and crash restart
I believe that many friends who use ATI graphics cards have experienced black screen crashes, and many of them have to use their graphics cards for downgrading at the end of the day to give them peace of mind, however, I spent A lot of money, but even the default frequency of A public version was unstable. I think every A meal was uncomfortable, so I did some experiments over the past few days, I have some experiences and want to share with you.
First, it is POWERPLAY, the biggest culprit that causes frequent crash and restart of a card. This is a good starting point. If the system is not very good, it will become a time bomb.
POWERPLAY divides the graphics card 3D applications into four states: startup, general applications, HD playback 1, and HD playback 2, corresponding to state1, state2, state3, state4 in BIOS respectively.
Under normal circumstances, our video card is in the general application status, that is, when 2D applications and low-load 3D games, the video card reduces the frequency and voltage to achieve power saving, high-load 3D games run at full speed.
If a video card is full of materials, and the chip and video memory systems are both very good, this kind of POWERPLAY settings is completely correct, but unfortunately, many brands of video cards on the market do not have such good materials and systems, including the most famous sapphire.
Now I will take my sapphire HD3870 Overseas Edition as an example to describe how to play games by default from the very beginning, even if I open a QQ pet, it will crash, until now the super frequency to, 24 00 can run stably.
First paste the default BIOS of this video card

We can see that although the default frequency is the same as that of the public version, the default voltage is not 1.327 V of the public version, and the default voltage is 0.027 V lower.
In the default BIOS, I first encountered a semi-dead 3D game. The specific performance was fixed with the mouse, the sound continued, the sound fixed, and then the black screen restarted. So I cut out and checked the temperature when I played the game halfway, and then I got 60 degrees, so I ruled out the heat dissipation problem.
At this time, I was wondering if the game load was not balanced, and frequent POWERPLAY switching caused a crash. So I adjusted the low 3d and high 3d frequencies to the same and reduced the Running frequency.

After the BIOS was refreshed, the game never crashed again, but I thought about it. If it was a problem with POWERPLAY, shouldn't the super-frequency affect stability, and I thought about how I spent 13XX, at last, I was so upset about downgrading the usage. So I took the frequency to or, but unfortunately, I couldn't go through 3 DMARK.
At this time, I suddenly noticed that the default voltage of this card is 1.3, so I am so worried that it is added to the same 1.327 V as the public version, while continuing to increase the frequency

The voltage increases the stability of the video card.

The score is not very high.
So far, in this BIOS playing a whole day Call of Duty 4 and the best 11, never crashed, I thought this video card was finally handled by me. Who knows that in a very accidental situation, I opened the QQ pet and clicked the Q pet menu. When the menu popped up, the machine crashed again. Because this is in 2d operations, the first thing I think of is whether the CPU exceeds the header? (Black Box OC 200*16), So I reduced the CPU back to the default frequency. At the same time, due to POWERPLAY, I was shocked by AMD's energy-saving solution, the COOL 'n' QUITE is also disabled. After the restart, the Q pet menu is challenged again. The result is still, and the system crashes.
Now I am confused. Well, I will recover everything to the initial state, so I will brush back the old video card BIOS and start the system again. Hey, this time it really doesn't die. Is it a Video Card problem? However, this video card does not crash when running 3D games under such a high load, but it just burps under the QQ menu in our zone? I opened RIVA TUNER and kept clicking the QQ menu to find out the problem.

From the monitoring, we can see that when you click the QQ menu, the GPU has a large load, and this load has exceeded the 2D limit, the graphics card driver needs to call the low 3D frequency to cope with it (QQ is really good ).
Well, I understand this truth. The reason why the machine crashed is clear, and the culprit is POWERPLAY, because the pop-up of QQ menus is a matter of an instant (which can be clearly seen from the monitoring), POWERPLAY will switch between 2D-LOW3D-2D at a very fast speed, since my LOW 3D frequency was too frequent, it directly caused unstable crashes (this is the same as the first crash in the game ).
OK. Now, I have completely understood that, as long as I perform frequent POWERPLAY switching on a relatively large frequency or voltage span, I will crash (for example, game load imbalance, some software menus use the 3D function). If the POWERPLAY function remains stable after switching, even if it is too frequent, it will not crash (such as regular 3D games ).
The final solution is to use LOW 3D as the stepping stone so that the frequency and voltage span of POWERPLAY are within the range of stable operation, even if the frequent switching frequency does not crash, it can be used frequently, which is a perfect solution. The final bios I used is attached.

Finally, I would like to comment on the card of lanbao, which should be a shrinking public version. Since ATI can design POWERPLAY, it must have been strictly tested, so I think there should be no such problem in the public edition card, but now so many non-public cards are easy to crash, it can only be said that the board manufacturer has lowered the design requirements, and friends who are doing consumer electronics should understand that, what is new? New models reduce costs. Although the price is also low, at least stable operation is not required, and the overclocking capability is not extravagant. In the end, it is chilling to make many people spend money and reduce the frequency.
I have written so much and many of them are nonsense. I just want to tell you some of my experiences. I hope it will be helpful to you. Thank you.

The front is a fancy Installation Method of the ati driver for your reference:

Install in win7:
In the Device Manager, click the video card, update the driver manually, select the list or specified location for installation, next, search for the specified location, and find the corresponding system driver directory, select the W7_INF file and select hd3600. If the file fails to pass Microsoft authentication, click Continue to install it.

Ii. Install aticatalyst
After the driver is installed, run setup.exe in the cccdirectory.

Driver Installation Method:
1. Install. NET framework 2.0 (for CCC installation)
2. download the latest driver from the official website www.amd.com.cn (currently 10.4 );
3. Double-click the Driver Installation File and the package will be automatically decompressed. Exit when prompted;
4. Right-click "my computer"> "management"> "Device Manager"> find the "display card" item, and right-click the yellow ** color question mark item, select "Update driver", click "no", and click "Next,
Select "Install from list or specified location (advanced)", next --- Select "do not search, I want to select your own driver" next
Click "Install from disk" --- click "Browse"; point to "C: \ ATI \ Support \ 10-4_agp-hotfix_xp32_dd_ccc \ Packages \ Drivers \ Display \ XP_INF"
Select CX-98771 click Open --- OK, then select ATI radeon HD 3600 Series click Next -- a warning is displayed, click Yes, after some action, then install the driver. You can restart it.

The HD3600 video card of the AGP version adopts a passive heat dissipation design, which is combined with a 594/725 MB GDDR2 video memory. The core/Display memory frequency is MHz. It adopts a dual-slot design, which occupies more chassis space.

If you don't know, don't mislead others. At present, HD6470 only has win7 and does not have XP, But you download the WIN7 driver, which actually contains the XP driver. The method is as follows: first download the win7 driver and decompress it to the specified folder. There is a Packages/Drivers/Display/XP_INF in it. This is the XP graphics card driver, but since we are pushing the WIN7 driver, so there is no XP installation connection during installation. If you want to install it, you can only install it manually, that is, find the hardware and specify the installation directory for installation.

Start the XP non-blue screen in AHCI mode. I will try multiple methods to share my experience with you! Detailed illustration! Comment on "Lenovo IdeaPad"

As a top War3 amateur player, the first thing after Y460 is to install War3.

As the saying goes, "the life lies in operations". But when I find that War3 is running some dota games under Windows 7, there is no smooth feeling when I really play RPG games, of course, SOLO is very smooth.

I know this is because War3 is not compatible with WIN7, so after seeing a lot of posts about "WIN7 and XP dual systems", I decided to install dual systems decisively!

I thought it was easy to write in my post,

But I am wrong,

I have read numerous posts and tried many methods, but failed ,.

At first, I wanted to create a system disk that integrated the SATA driver, and then install it on a disc,

As a result, no disk can be read in AHCI mode. You can switch to the IDE mode to read it. I have to install it in IDE mode, however, after installation, the AHCI driver cannot be installed in XP, but not in many versions,

I am very depressed and helpless. At this time, I saw a Post saying that winpe can be directly installed in AHCI mode, so there is no problem of installing the driver after installation, so I tried again,

I tried all the old peach winpe and ylmf winpe, and I got a USB flash drive for the boot disk, but none of them can work !!

After I changed the BIOS Boot Mode to usb hdd boot to winpe with the boot USB flash drive, I found that no other disks could be read!

When I was desperate, I heard on the Internet that the pure version of "Yulin wood wind ghost xp sp3" supports the SATA driver and can be directly installed.

I carved a disk again,

It cannot be installed in AHCI mode, but can be installed in IDE mode. After installation, the BIOS switches back to AHCI mode, and then enters XP, blue screen ,,,,

The blue screen is very blue and blue. I have watched it for countless times in the past day ,,,

I was so angry that I spent so much time watching and researching posts, and I spent so much time on the next one. I also used three CDs and a USB flash drive, the result is still .... Tragedy...

After being depressed for half a day, I decided to accept the tragedy. In the face of the reality, IDE should be the case. It's a big deal that I don't want AHCI to enter WIN7 ,,

I started to calmly install other drivers and common software, but I accidentally installed the driver on the Lenovo official website in the Y460 XP patch "patch,

An AHCI driver is found !! The size is only 279.68KB, And the release time is 10-03-18.

I wonder why the 32-bit and 64-bit AHCI drivers of win7 are all placed in the "motherboard and chipset" directory, while the XP driver is placed here, And the size is only over 200 K.

Although I have tried to install various AHCI drivers after entering XP in IDE mode, and even right-click some talents to select the 2nd channels of IDE, then update the driver and manually select the directory. None.

However, I installed it with a try. After the installation, I restarted the BIOS and changed it back to AHCI. Then I chose WINDOWS XP, and resolutely pressed the Enter key,

I did not dare to look up, because I am afraid of the beautiful blue ~

Unexpectedly! I did not expect it !.. It's time to witness the miracle., windows xp, it's actually starting to read !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, sorry, it's so cool, so after talking so much about it, let's focus on it and let those who are also preparing to install dual systems learn from me to avoid detours!

First, attach the AHCI driver diagram on Lenovo's official website XP.

If you don't know how to get in to this place, I just gave you a download link.

The downloaded package is a compressed file. After decompression, there is no EXE installation file, and you can directly go to the PREPARE directory and run the INSTALL. CMD script.

After the installation is complete, the installation is complete. Soon, after the installation, the IDE controller is no longer the first six, and now there is only one,

By the way, Y460 also talks about the dedicated HD5650 driver under XP. Remember to switch the display to the dedicated driver in the BIOS first, which is set display by default.

Otherwise, the driver cannot be installed. HD5650 is always a yellow exclamation point!

If the driver is used, install. NET framework 2.0 first.

In addition, do not directly click the setup file to install it. If I have installed this file several times, the system will report an error, in the end, right-click the video card in the Device Manager, update the driver, and select the driver.

The target file is in the AMD \ Packages \ Drivers \ Display \ XP_INF directory. For details, see

Well, that's probably so much. I want to share with you the process of my failure and success, hoping to help some friends who don't know me too well and avoid detours.

Thank you for your patience in reading my post. Thank you!
