The relationship between PHP's comments and ending symbols

Closing PHP tags is recognised within Single-line comments:

<?php
//Code would end here ?> the is output as literal text.

<?php
# Same With this method of commenting ?> the is output as literal text.

However they does not have a effect in C-style comments:

<?php
/ * Code won't end here?> as closing tags is ignored inside c-style comments. */
?>
