According to a report released today by the ponemon Institute, most companies are actively moving towards cloud computing, even in the absence of effective security protection, transfers confidential or sensitive data to the cloud.
The report pointed out that the transfer speed of enterprises to cloud computing far exceeds the carrying capacity of the enterprise's cloud security environment. According to the survey, most respondents said they had uploaded sensitive or confidential data to the cloud. Only 11% of respondents said they did not transfer the data to the cloud and there was no upload plan.
It is worth noting that although some users think that cloud storage has certain potential security risks, even some organizations or organizations with higher security awareness, it is also more likely to transmit sensitive or confidential data to the cloud.
The survey shows that most ECs instances of The IAAs or PAAs type are primarily responsible for user data security, and 22% of respondents believe that the above servers should be separately responsible for data security, 19% of respondents believe that SaaS servers should also share data security responsibilities.
According to the report, cloud servers use encryption technology, but they still cannot resist the invasion of worms like heartbleed worms. The ideal solution is to use a "hardware security module" device that can encrypt data internally without exposing external environments.
The report was launched in the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and Russia. A total of 4275 business and IT managers were interviewed.
