Some time ago, the school's IP egress was not enough and there was always an issue of getting an IP address. To solve this problem, I set the lab on the second floor as a LAN and then shared the Internet. The effect was good, I will introduce the method to you.
I am using the most economical and simplest method. I use a server dual-nic to act as a soft route, connect it to a vswitch, and then connect other computers to a vswitch to achieve Internet sharing. The procedure is as follows.
1. Set dual-nic computers. We call one network card the primary network card and the other the secondary network card. Connect the external network cable entry to the main network card. Because we use a leased line, in the TCP/IP protocol attribute, we select "automatically get IP address and automatically get DNS server address ". Ensure that the server can access the Internet normally.
2. Set secondary ENI. In the TCP/IP protocol attribute, set the IP address to 192.168.0.1, set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, the default gateway is not set, and the DNS server is set to automatic or Internet.
3. The secondary ENI is directly connected to the vswitch or hub, and other computer NICs are connected to the vswitch or another hub.
4. set the properties of other computers. In the TCP/IP protocol properties, set the IP address to 192.168.0.2 (the last number can be from 2 to 254), and The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, the default gateway is 192.168.0.1, And the DNS server is set to automatic or Internet. After the configuration is complete, you can try to ping the server or the user's machine. If you can ping the server, the LAN is no problem.
5. Set the primary ENI to "Internet Connection Sharing" (in local connection-properties-advanced). If this option is not available, run the network installation wizard.
Okay, so a small LAN is complete and you can enjoy the Internet cafe.
