Recently, fiber channel manufacturers Emulex and Brocade have released reports that their hardware products can work with EMC Clariion AX100 storage arrays. According to Gartner's survey, small and medium-sized enterprises are expected to account for 5 billion of the disk storage market worth $ 20%. Roger W. cox said that 70% of small and medium-sized enterprises still rely on direct attached storage, which is a good opportunity for storage vendors to launch an attractive solution to reduce management costs to the market.
Emulex indicates that its LP101 host bus adapter has been tested and approved by EMC for AX100. EMC also verifies that Emulex LP982 host bus adapters are suitable for mid-range applications running Windows and Linux. Brocade indicates that its eight-port Fiber Channel Switch Silkworm 3250 for the storage area network can be used with AX100 to provide up to 3 TB capacity, integrated management, and wizard-based easy setting interface.
These are only a small part of AX100's many partners. In the near future, we will see more and more storage hardware vendors joining in the support for AX100.
