Key PointsSolutionSeveral problems encountered during installation: (1)SQL Server2005 installation error: SQL Server promptServiceUnable to start; (2) No SQL Server after SQL Server 2005 is installedManagement StudioManager; (3) Install SQL Server 2005DatabaseSQL Server Management studio manager cannot log on through SQL Server identity authentication;

This installation of the SQL Server 2005 database really throws me, and there are very few such posts on the Internet. After looking for a long time, I found the relevant problem, one by one, let's not talk about anything else. Let's go straight to the topic. I will write down all the questions in detail to avoid detours in the future, I hope to help you (if anyone who has encountered these problems is absolutely helpful ):

Let's talk about my environment (applicable to similar issues), IBM 3650ServerAt that time, it was a new, six-core CPU, installedOperating SystemYesWindowsServer 2003 ChineseEnterpriseSQL Server 2005 Chinese Enterprise Edition is installed ...... The problem arises.

Question 1:When an error is reported during SQL Server 2005 installation, the system prompts that the SQL Server service cannot be started.

FaultSymptom: an error is reported during SQL 2005 installation and the progress is stopped. Prompt: the SQL Server service cannot be started. for more information, see the topic "how to view SQL Server 2005 installation logs" in SQL Server books online.FileAnd manually start SQL Server

Cause: I found a lot of related questions on the Internet: Some say that SQL 2005 does not support singular CPUs (probably this means), but this bug has been fixed in SQL 2005 sp2; it is also said that when SQL 2005 Standard Edition (no more than four CPUs) and Enterprise Edition (no limit) are installed, the total number of CPU cores must be 2 to the Npower. That is, the number of cores is 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and so on. For whatever reason, this is probably the meaning. Therefore, my environment is a 6-core CPU and the number of cores is 12 (for example), so it cannot be installed normally, when I change the number of cores to 2 or 4 (I did not try 8, it should be OK), the installation will be completed smoothly (how to modify the number and see the solution ).

Solution: ensure that the system is normal or does not affect SQL Server 2005 installation before installation. Change the number of cores of the system application: 'start' --> 'run' --> enter "msconfig" to enable 'System configuration PracticalityProgram', Select 'boot. ini' --- 'advanced options', and select '/numproc' to the Npower of 2 ......),

OK. After the system is restarted, SQL Server 2005 can be installed normally. Install SQL 2005 sp2. Then, uncheck '/numproc. After restarting the system, you can run SQL Server 2005 normally with all the physical cores.

Question 2,After SQL Server 2005 is installed, there is no SQL Server Management studio manager

Fault description: During SQL 2005 installation, you have selected all installation options. However, after installation, you still do not have the SQL Server Management studio manager. However, the database can be started properly and no error is reported;

Cause and solution: after finding a lot of related posts on the Internet, they don't work. Basically, they mean uninstalling and reinstalling, or installing an independent SQL Server Management studio manager, I am a real person sometimes, and I must install it properly to be comfortable. After multiple uninstallation and reinstallation, the result is the same. Later I thought whether it would be. net Framework, I Will unmount the database and try again.. NET Framework 2.0 or later versions, including 2.0, are all uninstalled and reinstalled after restart. The result is OK. I don't know if it is.. NET Framework does not seem to have an official saying, but it does solve the problem;

The following is an independent installation package for the SQL Server Management studio manager. If you do not want to reinstall it, you can use this method to install it separately to solve the problem:

If you need thisToolsToMicrosoftDownload the graphical interface tool Microsoft SQL Server Management studio Express.

In addition, Microsoft provides the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 express edition toolkit for download, which includes Microsoft SQL Server Management studio Express.

The following is the download link. Microsoft SQL Server Management studio Express will appear in the SQL Server 2005 Program Group after the download and installation. Use it for management.

Question 3,After the SQL Server 2005 database is installed, the SQL Server Management studio manager cannot log on through SQL Server identity authentication, as shown in:

Cause and solution: the problem may be caused by several problems and can be tested one by one in sequence.

1. check whether it is yours.UserDisabled logon. You can view and modify the settings through Windows Authentication logon. For example, 'security' --> 'login name' --> 'sa right-click attribute 'and change it to 'enable', as shown in:

2. Choose Start> program> Microsoft SQL Server 2005> Configuration tool> SQL Server Configuration Manager. In the displayed window, find 'SQL Server 2005NetworkConfigure, enable 'named pipes' and 'tcp/ip 'under 'mssqlserver Protocol', and then restart SQL Server;

3. If the above two steps still do not work, it may be related to server authentication. log in with Windows Authentication and then open the server attributes, 'security' changes the server authentication method to 'SQL Server and Windows authentication.Mode', As shown in:
