The system does not recognize the sound card after installing a sound card to the computer. This is mostly because the sound card is not installed, or the sound card does not support Plug and Play, or the driver is too large to support the new system. Can be resolved by the following methods.
1. Reinstall the sound card
First unplug the sound card, with the eraser carefully wipe gold fingers, insert echo card, boot check system has not found a sound card.
2. Add the sound card manually
In the XP system, click start → Control Panel, and then double-click Add New Hardware. To open the Add New Hardware Wizard, you will be prompted to automatically detect and configure new hardware, select No, and then click Next, and all optional installation hardware devices will be listed. Then, in hardware type, select Sound, Video, and game controllers, click Next, click From disk, select the path where the driver is located, and install the sound card driver.
3. Update Driver
Search for the latest sound card driver, if you don't have a driver, you can replace it with a sound card driver with the same model or sound chip. Through the above methods to solve, the sound card can be recognized by the system.
