Source: Internet
Author: User
The SetDefault () method is similar to the Get () method, but sets the dictionary [key]= by default if the key is not already in the dictionary.
Method

The following is the syntax for the SetDefault () method:

Dict.setdefault (Key, Default=none)

Parameters

  • Key--This is the button to be searched
  • Default-This is the value returned if the key is not found.

return value

This method returns the key value that is available for the dictionary, and returns the supplied default value if the given key is not available.
Example

The following example shows the use of the SetDefault () method.

#!/usr/bin/pythondict = {' Name ': ' Zara ', ' age ': 7}print ' value:%s '% dict.setdefault (' age ', None) print ' Value:%s '% di Ct.setdefault (' Sex ', None)

When we run the above program, it produces the following results:

Value:7value:none
