Internet traffic monitoring agency ComScore Networks's latest monthly global popular website rankings show that the websites with the most unique visitors are not necessarily those with the most user participation.
According to the IDG News Agency, according to the traditional absolute number of visitors, the most popular websites in February are still the old faces of the United States, however, based on a new set of metrics introduced last month by comScore, that is, each user's access volume, the three Asian websites have taken the lead.
Although comScore still regards absolute visitor count as an effective method to measure the popularity of a website, it finds that the average access volume per user can play a complementary role, because it shows the user's degree of participation and loyalty.
According to data released on Tuesday in ComScore, in February, Microsoft ranked first among the most popular websites according to the absolute number of visitors. The absolute number of visitors was 0.507 billion, followed by Google (0.503 billion) and Yahoo (0.459 billion) time Warner (0.256 billion) and eBay (0.249 billion ).
However, according to the number of visits per user, South Korea's NHN ranks the highest, with 33 visits per user; China's Tencent second (31); and China's rising star (Rising.com.cn) row 3 (29 ). Google ranks fourth, with 24 user visits. Next, Microsoft and Facebook tied for the fifth place, with 22 visits per user. Yahoo scored the sixth place for 21 visits per user. For the absolute number of visitors, NHN ranked 47th, Tencent ranked 21, and Rising's Chinese website ranked 89th.
Bob Ivins, managing director of comScore Europe, said that although the absolute number of visitors can reflect the popularity of a website, however, the number of visits each user can better show the importance of a website to personal life.
