I was lucky to get this opportunity to Oracle to learn and participate in the OCM exam, so I get OCM is actually a matter of course, we have many colleagues have already had the OCM Master's ability and level , but did not have the opportunity to obtain certification.
I am now in the Zhejiang Telecom under a software company, we provide for the Zhejiang Telecom Oracle product implementation and technical support services. Therefore, we are now standing in the perspective of the party from the perspective of their procurement Oracle database and provide technical support. In addition, we also serve the telecommunications operators, financial, medical, logistics, government and other sectors of the social customers, so we serve the number of databases hundreds of sets of many, the volume is very many, all versions have, from 734 to 11g are available.

In fact, as seen from last year's trend, Oracle has also been transitioning to such a hardware and software provider's role.

3, such as your technical experts work must be very complex, the schedule is usually very full, you can describe the content of your work, at the same time in such a heavy work, you are how to deal with a variety of unexpected risks and problems occurred.

I now work in two pieces of direction, first, responsible for the system integration of some work. Second, the technical Support team is responsible for providing some technical services to Oracle users. Because we have to face hundreds of users, there are often unexpected events, so our team is in a 7*24-hour response status. For the technical support team, a variety of unexpected problems are possible every day, so we need to do: first, when the problem occurs we have the ability to help them solve the problem quickly, and second, before the problem occurs in advance to find signs, to eliminate the problem.

4, we all know that Oracle database is divided into two, database direction and development direction, you think is the development direction of the technology more core or management direction more core. For beginners, it is better to start from which piece.

In fact, from my personal point of view, development and management are more important. If you are working on a database development project, managing DBAs can provide a limited amount of help to the entire team, and they generally can only stand on the management side and provide advice from the database configuration and architecture. But in the process of project implementation, database backstage design, and plsql optimization is a very important part of the project, all need to develop DBA intervention. For beginners, I suggest that from the direction of management, choose some good Oracle textbooks or training institutions to provide training, they can simulate the environment to learn, relatively development, easy to start, self-study up also have the conditions. and learn to develop, it is best to learn in the project, if you do not integrate into a team, through a project complete process, so learn will be more messy. However, with the experience of database development, in the database management can be more from the perspective of the problem, this is a simple database management DBA does not have the advantage. So the best thing to do is to have both abilities and focus on one aspect.

5, the current OCM can be said to be a database certification among the highest level of technical personnel, and you have so early access to such a gold-content certificate, so there is no experience to share with you.

I started from learning Oracle, to get OCP certificate, after 3 years, from OCP to ocm the same between the same period after 3 years. Therefore, if you have sufficient practical experience, then the acquisition of OCM is a relatively easy thing. If there is a lack of hands-on practice in actual work, it is recommended that the knowledge be acquired through systematic training.

6. What do you think of Oracle certification system? Including your own when recruiting new employees is not a measure of the criteria for these certificates.

I think, OCP certification with the increase in the number of OCP, gold is decreasing, but OCM certification, because of its knowledge and practical operations are very high requirements, is still a very gold certificate. We prefer to recruit fresh students, so the certificate is not an absolute measure of our standards, but if we face two identical resumes, we may first notice the applicant who has the certificate, because at least we can see his attitude towards Oracle technology and learning mentality. Therefore, the certificate for the entry of the word is still more useful.

7, the current Oracle in China's users and partners have more than 10,000, then the future talent market for Oracle talent needs will be a situation, can you make a prediction. And your company's annual Oracle talent needs will be a situation. There is no demand for OCM.

From our company's point of view, the current lack of Oracle's technical support, database and data Warehouse design and development, system architecture talent. And for these types of people without a 35 years or more work experience is difficult to be qualified for such a position. So the middle and high-end people are the most urgent missing. In the future, database development and management, data warehousing in these two directions of talent is also the market demand is relatively large. Our company still has a demand for OCM.
