--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every computer user is familiar with the "safely delete Hardware" icon in the system tray area of the taskbar. When we insert USB devices such as USB disks and removable hard disks into the USB interface of the computer, A pop-up identifier "safely delete Hardware" appears in the taskbar tray area. But this little thing also appears when it is naughty. It doesn't appear when it appears. It doesn't appear when it shouldn't, and you have to learn to teach it.

Bizarre disappearance

The "safely delete Hardware" icon disappears.

Sometimes, when we insert a USB device into a computer, the USB device can be used normally, but the "safely delete Hardware" icon in the tray area cannot be displayed. After using this method, you cannot unmount it safely. You can only forcibly dial the USB device. However, this method of forcibly allocating a USB device may cause hardware damage. In this case, how can we safely detach the USB device? How can I reproduce the "safely delete Hardware" icon?

The command can be called for emergency response.

When the "safely delete Hardware" icon in the tray area is lost, although we cannot call out the "safely delete Hardware" window through the tray area icon to uninstall the USB device, however, you can also call out the "secure delete" Hardware window in the form of a command line to safely unmount the mobile device. Click Start> Run. In the run dialog box, type rundll32.exe shell32.dll and control_rundll hotplug. DLL, click "OK" or press the Enter key to open the "safely delete Hardware" window, and then you can unmount the hardware as usual.

Trace the source and reproduce the icon

The above method only serves as an emergency solution. Is there a way to reproduce the lost "safely delete Hardware" icon? Most of the causes for the loss of the Removable device secure unmount icon are caused by damage to system files related to the USB port in the system, or damage to the driver of the USB port. Therefore, in case of this failure, we can reproduce the lost tray icon by following the steps below.

Step 2: click "Start> Run", type the "C: \ windows \ system32 \ mongoray.exe" command in the run dialog box, press the Enter key to execute the command, and re-unplug the USB device, check whether the icon appears.

Step 2: If the "safely delete Hardware" icon cannot be reproduced in step 2, continue. In the "run" dialog box, type "Regedit" to open the Registry Editor. Expand the following branches in sequence: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ so

Ftware \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \

Run], right-click on the right pane, create a new string value and rename it as "mongoray.exe", double-click to change its value to "C: \ windows \ system32 \

.

Step 2: In the "run" dialog box, type "devmgmt. msc" and press enter to open the Device Manager. Find the "generic flash USB device" option under "disk drive" (see figure 1). Here we use a USB flash disk as an example. It may be different in the actual application process, but it is well recognized.

Step 2: Right-click the "generic flash USB device" option and select "properties" to open the Properties window. Click the "Policy" tab, open the Policy tab, select "optimize for performance improvement", instead of "optimize for quick deletion", and click "OK" (see Figure 2 ). After a USB device is replugged, the "safely delete Hardware" icon appears.

Step 2: If the problem persists, reinstall the driver on the USB port. If you do not know how to install the driver, reinstall the driver on the motherboard, but it is simple and convenient. After the motherboard driver is reinstalled, the missing tray area icon should be back.

Step 2: If the dialog box still does not appear, call up the run dialog box again, type "SFC/scannow", Press enter to scan the system file, when you are prompted to insert a Windows installation disc, insert the installation disc to the optical drive. After the restoration is completed, restart the computer (see figure 3 ).

Quiet as dead water

The "safely delete Hardware" icon does not show up

Many people may encounter this strange phenomenon when using a USB device: the USB device is inserted into the computer, and the indicators on the USB device are flashing normally, however, the "safely delete Hardware" icon in the tray area cannot be displayed, and its drive letter cannot be found in the resource manager. USB devices cannot be used.

In this case, first connect the USB device to another computer to check whether the USB device works properly. If it cannot work properly, the hardware of the USB device is faulty. It is best to repair the device. If the USB device works properly, it is a computer setup problem. In this case, you need to go to the registry to perform operations. In the "run" dialog box, enter "Regedit" and press enter to open the Registry Editor. Expand the following branch [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \

Currentcntrolset \ Services \ usbstor], and find the DWORD Value "start" in the right pane. "Start" is the active switch of the USB device. It has three working states: "2" indicates automatic, "3" indicates manual, and "4" indicates disabled. Double-click "start", modify the value data to a hexadecimal value "3" in the displayed edit dialog box, and click "OK. Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer to make the settings take effect. After restart, the fault can be rectified.

Superfluous

The "safely uninstall Hardware" icon appears for no reason

Many friends who buy SATA hard disks will find this strange phenomenon. After installing the SATA hard disk, a "safely delete Hardware" icon will appear in the tray area of the taskbar, but I don't have any other USB devices. Why?

This problem often occurs on a computer that uses the nforce chipset motherboard, mainly because after the IDE-SW motherboard driver is installed, the system will identify the SATA hard disk as a Removable device. In this case, the normal use of the computer is not affected, but there is a way to clear it: in the "run" dialog box, type "Regedit", Press enter to open the Registry Editor. Expand the following branch [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \

CurrentControlSet \ Services \ nvata], create a New DWORD Value in the right pane, and rename it as "disableremovable ". Double-click to change "value data" to "1" in the displayed dialog box, click "OK", and restart the computer, the system will no longer recognize the SATA hard drive as a Removable device, and the "safely delete Hardware" icon will naturally disappear.
