Thin body after Windows XP SP3 Installation

When you open your computer this morning, you will find that the system online upgrade prompts you whether to download the patch. When you open it, it turns out to be windows xp sp3. I have paid attention to the previous SP3 RTM, and then the Simplified Chinese official version came out in a wait-and-see manner, and I did not install it either. In fact, not afraid of system instability, but many people have seen that the installation occupies nearly MB of hard disk space.

Since online upgrades have started to prompt, I 'd like to install them. After all, it is quite scary to install windows without patching. However, since the online upgrade is too slow, I downloaded the ISO package for the XP SP3 Simplified Chinese version from the Microsoft download center.

The following describes how to prevent installation from occupying too much hard disk space:
1. Do not directly double-click the WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-CHS.exe installation, but use cmd to enter the command line, run
WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-CHS.exe n
In this way, you can not back up the old files during installation, but the disadvantage is that the previous status cannot be returned if the upgrade fails, but the probability is small.
2. After the installation is complete, you can clear some directories and files under the Windows system folder. I deleted these:
C:/Windows/$ ntservicepackuninstall $ back up the old file before update
C:/Windows/servicepackfiles: Back up new SP3 files
C:/Windows/$ hf_mig $ (this is a hidden folder) or leave the files with-IE7 in the folder, delete the remaining files, and keep the folder.
C:/Windows/softwaredistribution/download
C:/Windows/installer/$ patchcache $
C:/Windows/driver Cache/i386/sp2.cab
