Thoughts on ERP System in China

Recently, I plan to build a simple ERP system.

We have investigated many large commercial ERP systems at home and abroad, as well as various open-source ERP systems and free ERP systems developed by many people in China. This includes a traditional ERP system with a C/S structure and an ERP system with a B/S structure based on new technologies. It is found that many large commercial ERP systems in China are interpreted and expanded on the basis of finance, and finally implement the functions required by ERP. This has something to do with many ERP manufacturers who used to be financial software providers. But can this financial-Based ERP system meet the needs of domestic enterprises? I think it is debatable.

First, for large enterprises, formal financial systems and professional financial personnel are an indispensable part of the enterprise. However, for most SMEs in China, finance is just a means to ensure that enterprises can operate normally within the scope stipulated by national laws. Many small and medium-sized enterprises in China do not even have their own financial systems. Instead, they establish their own financial systems through external services. Company leaders really care about profit. Although regular financial statements can be used to interpret some valuable information for enterprises, for small and medium enterprises, the information read from the financial statement is far less effective than the information that the company leader obtains from various meetings of the company and the company's final performance. Therefore, there is no advantage in implementing the finance-Based ERP system. This can also explain why many ERP systems do not provide financial services at all, but simply managing receivables, payables, and profits can satisfy enterprises' needs.

Secondly, because the domestic ERP system started late and mainly used financial software, in terms of ERP production management, supply chain management, human resource management, customer relationship management and data warehouse, large foreign ERP suppliers (such as SAP and Oracle) have no advantage.

Therefore, we decided not to adopt this financial-centric ERP implementation method. In turn, we will refer to the implementation methods of open-source ERP systems in foreign countries and small ERP systems that are relatively successful in China, and develop ERP systems for domestic sales enterprises.

Sales Enterprises can temporarily avoid huge and complex production management. At the same time, the supply chain management and warehouse management are greatly simplified due to the absence of raw material supply and warehouse receiving links. However, you need to pay attention to the sales management. Considering the situation of channel distributors and end retailers, the sales management needs to reserve the sales interfaces of retailers (mainly for bar code scanning gun support ).

To meet the needs of future standardized management, the details and division of labor of scientific management of warehouse management will be reserved for future expansion. At present, you only need to import the data to the database, so you do not need to consider the details of the product storage.

Drawing on the lessons learned from ERP vendors in China, the system currently reserves financial implementation interfaces for financial management to facilitate future improvement of the financial system. Currently, only accounts payable, costs, and profits are considered.

During system implementation, all the order, receipt, warehouse receiving, and sales orders are recorded for future system expansion and query for statistical analysis.

Based on the above considerations, the current implementation of the ERP system needs to include: Commodity Management (type, brand, specification model), supplier management, procurement management, warehouse management, fund management and other modules.
