Thoughts on the May 29 event

On October 16, May 29, I had two technical activities at Microsoft. I participated in one of these activities. I was quite impressed and kept a simple record.

I don't know whether it is a coincidence or not, or what it implies. One of the two events is about HTML5 and the other is about blend. Even if blend represents Silverlight or RIA, in this way, the two events conflict with each other. I chose to participate in the blend activity, because in my opinion, HTML5 is still forming. If HTML5 squeezed out RIA that day, I think our Ria developers will soon overwrite HTML5.

What's more interesting is that several of the friends on the blend side slide from the HTML5 side, while the blend side has never lost one person, here I think the charm of the lecturer is more important. The second is how much it shows the status and importance of the two conflicting technologies and on-site activities in the hearts of our frontline developers. I was supposed to attend the HTML5 conference over there (or slide from there), but I always felt the atmosphere was heavy for people from the past events, there is always the feeling of "how to do it if it doesn't work". Comparing two different venues may be different in their own starting points, so it is just like the difference in communication with the Youth League branch and the school office. Some of our friends are new to Silverlight, such as those used in recent projects, and some are WP7 developers, the other part is trying to see if Silverlight can meet the needs of their projects. For a bi developer, as I introduced, Bi developers who do not do GIs are not good at Silverlight.ProgramClerk, just ridicule. We spent more than an hour introducing and interacting with each other, but obviously this time is not enough. Maybe there are too many things to communicate with developers, therefore, I am very grateful to you for providing such an opportunity for communication.

The coverage of the blend side is relatively larger. During the warm-up of the venue, the WP7 Publicity Video is used. Every time I see WP7, It is a heavy topic for me. Even though I am using Android and iOS, even if WM was used since ppc2002.

Wm6.1 has been used for a long time. At this stage, we have witnessed how "awesome" Microsoft was during that time, and the situation of WP7 in China and the number of platform applications, I have to think about it again. If I have never used Android or IOS, I may still be keen on WP. Just like our neighbors in the East, I am proud of the superiority of my platform. Even if HTC hd7 has reduced its price to more than 2300, I have to consider or observe it for a long time before making a decision. After all, there are too many alternative or more solutions to choose from, competition is a good thing for consumers. However, when we see that what we are keen on has been excluded from the comparison of many popular websites, it feels like we don't always win in our hometown team, the result is the same as what everyone is asking. --- Are you still playing the Super League?

We cannot deny the features and advantages of WP7. there are indeed many elements with Microsoft characteristics in it, and other platforms are beginning to follow suit, I personally think it is Microsoft's "not powerful" that has been squeezed by Android and IOS ". If Microsoft does not do anything in the future, I think that the lost users are not just the current developers. I believe that Microsoft's recent operations with Nokia will be a turning point, but this is not powerful enough. I hope to see more actions of Microsoft in the future.

Qin Chunlin's sharing of blend is indeed a highlight. He used examples to show us how to easily define a smooth interface, in addition, we will introduce the features one by one in the evolutionary order of the blend version. This is awesome because the venue schedule is very tight and there is no time to take a break, when I tried to go to the bathroom several times, I had to endure it. It was like watching "Avatar" for fear of missing an important plot. In the past few years, Microsoft seems to seldom take the initiative to talk about some of the most basic things.CommunityExperts can share their rare experiences. This is really amazing.

Let's go back and talk about the blend that I met. It was very embarrassing in the projects I have seen. After vs2010 came out, there were very few people who used blend for layout work, two of my projects are associated with XAML, one is a WPF project, and the other is a Silverlight project. In that WPF project, blend is not used at all. It may be complicated in that case: for example, projects that have been developed for three years have not yet been officially launched, even if they have already entered Phase II development. It may have been a good idea. We should first follow the winform style and routines, and add nice effects such as animations later. The results are like what I mentioned earlier. The second is the moss + Silverlight project. The Silverlight granularity is split very fine, such as several lists on the right of the webpage or the link navigation at the bottom, there are about five Silverlight regions on a page. Actually, many things that can be directly implemented using the Server Control of Asp.net must be encapsulated using Silverlight. The result is really self-defeating, in the end, the whole page does not seem very coordinated, and it is always strange. Therefore, I later insisted that similar projects should either be full-site Silverlight or the page granularity of Silverlight should not be so fine.

Lao Yang in the midstream also shared some tips, which showed you performance problems, that is, a lot of pandatv full screen running. I only want to pay little attention to web games, so I cannot make comments on web games. However, I think that as a technical entrepreneur, we only need to use practical innovations to attract consumers, it will be successful. It is true that in China, relying on dummies can make a very bad game profitable for a period of time, but it is easy to leave the old name, and only real innovation is the king. Recently, I was playing pocket legend. This is a mobile online game, which is available on Android and iOS platforms in full 3D mode. The effect is good. It may be difficult to achieve full 3D effects in Silverlight, but the successful experience of foreign games must be worth learning from.

In short, I am very grateful for this blend activity. I have learned a lot and can use it in my bi projects. I hope there will be more activities in the future, such as playing basketball last time. In addition, we also hope that we will try not to crash in the future activities. As a supporter of the Microsoft community, we will have meat in our hands, which is really hard to choose.
