End Port Type
1 Access User mode
2 Trunk Link Mode
3 hybrid mode (similar to trunk but higher than trunk)
Two ports Introduction
2.1 Access Type port:
Allow only the default VLAN Ethernet frames, that is, only one vlan, access port after receiving the Ethernet frame to the VLAN tag, forwarding in the Split VLAN label, generally connected to the end of the computer.
2.2 Trunk Type port:
You can allow multiple VLANs to pass, messages that can accept and forward multiple VLANs generally act on the ports that are connected between the switches, and in the hierarchical structure of the network, trunk is interpreted as "port aggregation", in which multiple physical ports are bundled together as a logical port. The function can extend the bandwidth and make the link backup.
2.3 Hybrid Type port:
The hybrid type port is very similar to the trunk type port, and can allow multiple VLANs to pass, receive and send packets of multiple VLANs, can be used between switches, and can be used to connect the user's computer port, unlike the trunk port, The hybrid port allows multiple VLANs to be sent without a label, while the trunk port only allows messages from the default VLAN to be sent without marking.
Three processing process
3.1 Processing when receiving messages:
Access port: Receive a message to determine if there is VLAN information: If there is no default VLAN to hit the port, and exchange forwarding, if there is a direct discard.
Trunk Port: Receive a message to determine if there is VLAN information: If there is no default VLAN to hit the port, and exchange forwarding, if there is a judge that the trunk port allows the VLAN data entry: If you can forward, otherwise discard
Hybrid port: Receive a message to determine whether there is VLAN information: If there is no default VLAN hit the port, and exchange forwarding; If so, determine if the hybrid port allows the data entry of the VLAN, if you can forward, otherwise discard
3.2 Text:
Access port: Split the VLAN information of the message and send it directly.
Trunk Port: Compares the default VLAN of the port and the VLAN information that will send the message, if the two are equal, peel the VLAN information and send it, if not equal, send the message directly.
Hybrid port: Determine the properties of the VLAN on this port (disp interface can see which VLAN is UNTAG and which VLAN is tag) on that port. If it is untag, then peel the VLAN information and send it, if it is tag, send it directly.
