If the terminal service on the server is not enabled or accidentally stopped, and the remote management server is urgently needed, the only way is to re-enable the service. In order to make better use of this service to remotely manage servers, this article specifically introduces different methods for enabling remote terminal services from both local and remote perspectives.
Modify hosts

This method is to modify the system attributes of the Terminal Service and change the Startup type from the "disabled" status to the "Automatic" status. The specific operation steps are as follows:

Click Start, Run, and run the command services. msc to go to the System Service list page. In the right pane of the page, find and double-click the "Terminal services" service to open the Property setting page of the service; click the "Start" button to set the Service Startup type to "automatic", and then click "OK" to enable the remote terminal service. You can also enable the Telnet service on the System Service list page.

Even if the server is not local, you can use the system console window to remotely modify the "Terminal services" service attribute of the server to enable the Server Terminal Service remotely. When remotely enabling the server terminal service, you only need to run the "mmC" command on the remote workstation to open the console window of the local system, click "file", "Add/delete Management Unit", and click "add" to import the "service" Management Unit; select "another computer" in "Keep management of this management unit", enter the IP address of the server, click "finish", and then press the previous method, after modifying the attributes of the "Terminal services" service, you can remotely enable the server Terminal service.

Edit Registry

This method enables Remote Terminal Services by modifying the registry subkeys related to remote terminal services:

Click Start and run, and Run regedit to go to the system registry editing window. Expand the Registry branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesTermService, in the right pane of the corresponding TermService sub-key, find and double-click the "Start" key to open the Value Setting dialog box for this key, enter the number "2", click "OK", and restart the server system, you can enable the Remote Terminal Service on the server.

The above method is only performed locally on the server. In fact, you can also use this method in the remote workstation to open terminal services on the server. In the remote workstation system, you also need to open the system running dialog box, enter the Registry Editing Command "regedit", and click "OK" to enter the system registry editing window. In this window, click "file" and "connect to the network Registry" in the menu bar, and then enter the account and password with permissions to access the server registry in the displayed server password verification dialog box, after successful login, press the previous method to modify the "Start" key value under the TermService sub-key. After the server system restarts, the terminal service on the server will take effect.

By default, Terminal Services are not installed in the operating system. You need to add or delete Windows Components for installation. The terminal service is used to facilitate multiple users to operate the server on which the terminal service is enabled. All operations and operations are placed on the server.

Both Terminal Services and Remote Desktop are components of the Windows system and are developed by Microsoft. Using these two components, you can control and operate the server on the other end of the network. running the program is as simple as manipulating the local computer.

The Remote Terminal Service allows multiple clients to log on to the server at the same time. Both device authorization and user authorization require the CAL Client Access Authorization Certificate, remote Desktop Management only provides the operator and administrator with a graphical remote access to the server management interface (the interface is the same as the remote terminal service) and does not require a CAL license; remote Desktop allows up to two administrators to log on to a process, but Terminal Services are not restricted. Remote Desktop only allows users with administrator permissions to log on, and terminal services do not, users with any permissions can remotely control the server through the terminal service, except that the permissions after logon are consistent with their own permissions.

Borrow External Force

In this method, the unattended installer on the Windows 2000 system installation disc is used to enable the Server Terminal Service:

First, find the Windows 2000 system installation disc and put it into the local computer's optical drive; open the 1386 folder in the installation disc, find the name "sysocmgr. ex files, and use Winrar or other compression software to release them, and then copy the released target files directly to the "system32" folder under the local system installation directory;

Go to the computer where the server is located, open the notepad text editing program, and enter the following command code in the editing interface:

The following is a code snippet:
[Components]
TSEnabled = on

Save as the "C: setupterm.txt" file. ex "to release the file on the computer, click" START "and" run "command in turn, enter" CEN "in the pop-up system run box, and click" OK ", switch the system working status to MS-DOS mode; execute telnet success/I: X: WinNTinfsysoc ON THE doscommand line. inf/u: C: setupterm.txt/q "command (X indicates the disk partition symbol of the server operating system), and then restart the server system, to enable the remote terminal service.
