Many people know the role of cookies --
Cookies store the records of the web pages we have browsed. If someone with ulterior motives sees this information, they can discover the information. Currently, there are not many attacks against cookies, these black hands download cookies from the local computer by downloading the network database, including our browsing information, our server background information, our administrator account, and even our bank password.
There are also some theft techniques that use social engineering, such as stealing your QQ number by spying on your cookies, etc. Although you can obtain it through appeal, however, it is inevitable that your qq friends will be deleted, as well as our game accounts and passwords. Many people are very concerned about this, and cookies record such login information, if we leave this black hand alone, who knows what will happen in the future? Although something on the internet is virtual, we look at our hard-earned equipment to the pockets of others, what are your plans?
For the sake of "security", many people insist on daily use of computers to promptly clean up ie cache files and delete cookies. I have to admire the perseverance of doing so every day, but it is undeniable that it is too troublesome to do so every day. So how can we prevent others from spying on us with cookies?
You can directly disable the cookie to achieve the above purpose. Currently, you can choose from three methods:
I. IE Option Method
1. Start IE;
2. on the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options" to open the "Internet Options" dialog box;
3. Click the "privacy" tab to move the slider to a higher privacy level. If you move to the top of the page, select "block all cookies". At this time, the system blocks the cookies of all websites and the Website Cannot read the existing cookies on the computer;
4. Click OK.
Ii. Attribute setting method
Of course, the above "IE Option Method" is completed in IE6. If you use IE5, in the "Internet Options" dialog box, set the "Security" tab, which is different in IE4. In the following "attribute setting method", the folder for storing cookies is set to "read-only", so that the website cannot write Cookie information to it. This method applies to various versions of IE.
1. Start Windows Resource Manager ";
2. Find the folder to save the Cookie. The folder for storing cookies varies depending on the version of Windows. For example, in Windows XP, the folder is the "C: Cookies and Settings username Cookies" folder; in Windows 98, it is the "C: WindowsCookies" folder;
3. Right-click the folder and then click "properties" to open the folder Properties dialog box. Select the "read-only" check box and specify the file in this folder as the read-only property, read-only means that the file cannot be changed or accidentally deleted;
4. Click OK.
Iii. Registry
The Property setting method also has a defect, that is, the website can still read the existing cookies on the computer. Some special cookies do not exist in the form of text files, but are saved in the memory. This type of Cookie is usually generated by the system automatically in the memory when a user accesses some special websites. Once a visitor leaves the website, the Cookie is automatically deleted from the memory. The above two methods are powerless to these cookies, and the "Registry method" can make up for these shortcomings.
1. Click the Start Menu, click Run, type regedit in the open box, and click OK to open the registry editor window;
2. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet SettingsCacheSpecial PathsCookies" branch, right-click "Cookies", and click the "delete" command in the shortcut menu. When the system prompts to confirm deletion, click "yes;
3. close the registry editor window.
To prevent websites from storing Cookie files in your computer, in addition to setting them manually, install software to protect your Cookie files. There are many such software. You can download them from various software download sites. For example, Complete Cleanup Software Trail is a Software dedicated to clearing various cookies. It has powerful functions and not only keeps the Cookie hidden in the computer, you can also clear junk information stored in the hard disk cache when browsing the Web page.
