Three ways to import txt text data into Excel

Excel supports importing text content from external text files. By importing data, we can easily use external data, and in many cases we can avoid the hassle of manually typing text again.

There are a number of ways to import text in Excel, so let's take a look at--

1. Use the "open" command

This is the most common way to open a text file to an Excel workbook directly.

Select the menu command file | Open, select file type as text file in the Open dialog box, figure 1, and then locate and select the text file you want to import, and click the Open button.

The Text Import Wizard dialog box appears as shown in Figure 2, with a total of 3 steps, which is the 1th step.

You can set the original data type in this dialog box, there is a clearer description on the right side of the option, no longer repeat here, click the Next button to go to step 2nd, as shown in Figure 3.

Then click the Next button to go to step 3rd, as shown in Figure 4.

When you are prompted to complete the setup, click the Finish button. As shown in Figure 5 as an open text file, you can edit the text to suit your needs.
