Many of my friends have been using Outlook or Google Calendar for their schedules. In fact, I have been using these two types of software for a long time. Outlook is a client software, and the way to share calendars is troublesome and subject to certain restrictions. Basically, all my friends who use Outlook as the calendar management software are only using one computer, however, if you have a Windows Mobile Phone, the synchronization between Outlook Mobile and Outlook is very easy, so the situation will be better. Google Calendar is an online system. Although Google provides offline functions to make it easier for users to access the Internet, its advantage is that it can be accessed everywhere. One of the highlights of Google's calendar is the short message reminder feature. That is to say, when a calendar item's reminder time is reached, Google will automatically send a reminder text message to the user's mobile phone, this is more convenient for those who cannot use the computer at any time. However, whether it is to synchronize the calendar between the computer and the mobile phone or set up in advance when the service provider sends a reminder text message to the mobile phone, these can only be called event reminders, not time management.

Calendar + alarm

Both Outlook and Google Calendar are typical event reminder software. They do not jump out of the "calendar + alarm" application mode. Before going to bed in the first night or getting up in the morning, users should first think about what to do in the day and when they are suitable for doing or possibly doing it, add them to the calendar one by one, and set the alarm to avoid forgetting. At this moment, the alarm will sound and a dialog box will pop up to remind you to do something. This method is understandable, and it does help us avoid mistakes and losses caused by forgetting and negligence. However, after a long period of use, I gradually found that this method has fallen behind.

If a user's work and life are trivial tasks and there are not many primary and secondary tasks, you only need to do these tasks step by step every day, it is enough to use the "calendar + alarm clock" method. For example, you get up at six o'clock P.M. a.m., go to work at a.m., have lunch at a.m., and get off work at a.m, remind me to go to bed at in the evening or arrange to buy a birthday gift for a friend on a certain day of the next week. There are not many primary and secondary tasks, and there is no need to take the time to arrange the order, you only need to do it step by step. Don't forget what to do. There are many things to be done at a specific time every day. Such events can be set as repetitive events and scheduled reminders every day, so that you do not need to receive external reminders after you get used to them, the biological clock of the human body will automatically ask us to do this.

Although many of my friends are still using this method to schedule their daily schedules, I still insist that for a constant pursuit of progress, for urban office workers or enterprise managers who always want to charge and upgrade themselves, this method is indeed lagging behind. If you belong to one of these groups and you are still using the "calendar + alarm clock" mode, I advise you to consider the adjustment method as soon as possible.

Why is the "calendar + alarm clock" Mode lagging behind? In my first article, "Time Management-Concepts ignored!" As mentioned in, do not always race against time. Let's take Liu Xiang for example. When does Liu Xiang usually run the fastest? During the competition. If Liu Xiang always asked him to run the fastest, he would have been exhausted. The race against time is also the same. If you encounter occasional flights that are about to take off and you are still in traffic jam, it is especially important to race against time. Occasionally racing against time means that your body and mind can be properly rested and relaxed most of the time. Long racing against time can easily lead to physical and mental loss, not worth the candle. In the "calendar + alarm" mode, it is easy to take people into an endless cycle that is racing against time. Time is always moving forward, but people cannot keep running along a straight road as expected. On the road, there will always be more or less changes and influences, and a temporary change or detour will be taken. Almost no one can accurately figure out how many ideas a normal person may think every day, but it is certain that there will be a lot of ideas, and most of them are just temporary thoughts, I forgot in a short time, but there are certainly a lot of impulsive thoughts. Aside from those thoughts that have been made before, there are actually a lot of things left, if you add these ideas to the calendar of the day, the schedule will surely be full. In addition, humans are group animals, and there are many things that others need or want us to do. If we add these things, the calendar is even more crowded. So why have many people become "Ah, too busy recently, no time !"

Focus of time management

Because we were too busy and tired, we thought of the concept of "time management" and hoped that a new idea would help us get rid of the tedious and tiring work, it makes our life easier. First, let's discuss the focus of "time management.

The focus of time management is not time. The focus of time is actually the "calendar + alarm clock" model I mentioned above. Sorry, it's strange that the focus of time management is not time. What will it be? Is the priority of an event. Let's first list an example. We all know that the assessment criteria for recruiting flight trainees are extremely demanding, And the elimination rate is extremely high. For the moment, the Air Force does not say that civil aviation pilots really need such high health qualities? High eyesight requirements, but I often see that some pilots in foreign countries are wearing myopia or glasses of old flowers; there cannot be obvious scars on the body, and some pilots continue to fly after the appendicitis operation. I once heard that a student with excellent physical fitness was finally eliminated after entering the civil aviation pilot because the left arm was 0.5 centimeters shorter than the right arm. We know that spine animals are relatively symmetric and cannot be absolutely symmetric. Although most people have almost the same length of left and right arm, even if the length is 0.5 centimeters short, can't I catch the right hand when I can catch the right hand? Why is the threshold for flying? This should begin with the Training Mechanism of pilots. Most civil aviation pilots in China adopt a quantitative training mechanism. The total tuition fee of a four-year undergraduate course for a flight trainee is as high as 0.7 million RMB. However, the total fee paid by the trainee is very small, and it can only be counted as a fraction, who helped him pay for the big data? Airlines. Each year, airlines will notify the Flying School of how many pilots they need to train. After the flying school summarizes the demand of each airline company, it will be the number of places to fly in the year, because no one pays for the extra tuition fee. As the number of places is extremely limited, and too many young people are eager to fly to the blue sky and look forward to the pilot's beautiful career, so there are too many people who want to squeeze into the college gate, so they have to constantly improve the assessment standards. I once talked to a captain. He said that in fact, 90% of the physical examination subjects of zhafei do not actually make sense, just to brush more people. (Although our country has been in line with international standards in recent years, and some people have already gotten richer first, some flight trainees have appeared at their own expense. However, because the flight trainees at their own expense are not allocated in packages, after graduation, you need to find a job on your own. It is more like learning a driver's license and finding a driver's career. Therefore, it is not in the scope of the current example .)

If you have a limited number of people and want to win too many people, you can try to brush them down. If you want to do too many things every day and have limited time, why can't you do it? I am in time management-the concept of being ignored! As mentioned in the article, God only schedules 24 hours a day for everyone, and no one has more or fewer. Therefore, any time-consuming task requires us to carefully consider whether it is worth taking some time. This is my emphasis on "priority of events ". When we are doing time management, we can learn from the assessment mechanism of zhafei. When there are many people, I will try my best. Similarly, if there are too many ideas, I will try my best to eliminate the unimportant or unrealistic ideas and impulses, at last, keep a few things that are really important and worth doing within the limits allowed by your time. Just like some flight trainees with superior family conditions who cannot pass the public fee training, they will apply for a self-paid flight trainee with relatively loose assessment criteria, you can put some things that seem less important or are not worth immediately arranging time to do. If you have enough time in the near future, let's see if these things are worth doing. It is impossible for us to complete all the ideas of the day, just as the flying school cannot satisfy the aspirations of every applicant, as long as the flight schools cultivate the best children into excellent civil aviation pilots, even if they do their duty, we will do or push forward those few but most important things every day, even if too many ideas fail to be put into practice, why should we blame ourselves? There are too many regrets in your life. Why do you add more "regrets" to yourself.

At last, let's discuss how to classify the importance of events. In general, things that are of great help to our career development and cannot be hesitated have the highest priority, and secondly, things that can promote our own development but require a long process, there are also some insignificant things that should be arranged as low priority. According to the 20% principle, only 80% of things in our work have played a 80% role in promoting our career development, while the remaining 20% things have only played a role. From this point of view, why do we need to schedule a large amount of time for those 80% things to push the progress of those 20% things? Of course, the priority distinction between events cannot always be distinct. In many cases, when we face a lot of things we want to accomplish, it seems difficult to rank them, I don't know who should first and who should do it, but I can't concentrate on all things at the same time. If I don't focus on things, it's hard to do well, at the same time, the results are often not good. What should I do in this situation? I think we may wish to leave the difficult problem of priority to our subconscious, which usually seems smarter and more intuitive than our primary consciousness. Very easy. You can take the list with all the to-do items out of your eyes or in your mind, and then ask yourself what you first think, the most important thing is often the first thing to think about, and then sort it back. Although this method may not guarantee 100% accuracy, you may wish to try it if you are not sure.

Obviously, we are not living independently in a vacuum. In many cases, there may be some unexpected situations. For example, you are writing your annual performance report with a dedicated mind (directly related to how many year-end awards can be obtained ), at this time, your leader suddenly came up and asked you to handle a document for him. This document is only important to him and is more like a piece of waste paper to you. What should I do? If you are a newbie who has just entered the workplace and lacks experience, believe me, this situation will not be uncommon. If you have years of experience, I believe that your feelings may be deeper than mine. This kind of thing also needs to be included in our own time management scope. We cannot prevent this kind of phenomenon. I will discuss this situation in the following articles: how to deal with external interference.
