After using the computer for a period of time, the C disk will become increasingly full and the running program will become increasingly slow. However, disk C is a system disk. Compared with other partitions, files cannot be deleted directly. Otherwise, system errors or even crashes may occur.
I. Anti-bot useless programs
First, check whether there are unnecessary programs in your program menu. If so, uninstall them. The uninstallation method is very simple. You only need to go to the control panel and open "Add/delete programs" to perform the operation.
2. Folders that are easy to ignore
During file operations, the default storage location is "My documents ". The default position of "My Documents" is in disk C. Therefore, when disk C is insufficient, we recommend that you check the file capacity in my documents first, and can be transferred to other partitions. You can open the "My Documents" Property Window and click "move" in the "target folder" tab to select a new location.
Another folder that is easily overlooked is Download (Downloads )". Generally, the default storage path of the Download tool is C: \ Download (Downloads), and normal users are used to the default setting during Download, in this way, several large movies take up one or two GB. Therefore, it is not allowed to move the content in these folders to another partition, and do not save the downloaded files to the Download folder.
Iii. Procedure Transfer
We can also transfer some files stored on drive C by default to other partitions, including virtual content and temporary files. The first is virtual memory, which usually occupies 1.5 times the physical memory. We recommend that you open the system attribute window, click the "Settings" button under "performance" in the "advanced" tab, click the "change" button in the "advanced" tab, and select the C partition, set it to "non-paging file", and then select D or other partitions to redefine the virtual memory size.
For computers that access the Internet, you can also transfer the temporary file storage location. Open the "Internet Options" command under the IE "Tools" menu, and click "set" in the "Temporary Files" area, click "Move folder" to specify a location other than drive C.
Iv. Sleep and System Restoration
Enabling sleep also occupies a lot of space for System Restoration, so we can disable it. First, go to the control panel, turn on "power options", and then deselect "enable sleep" in the "Sleep" tab. Next, you can open the System Properties window and select "Disable System Restore on All Drives" in the "System Restore" tab. After such operations, you can sometimes release about 1 GB of space.
