1. set ± o: Enabling and disabling shell features

By using the-o or + o option, the built-in command set (tcsh has a built-in command set, but it works differently) can enable, disable, and list some bash features. For example, the following command will enable the noclobber feature:

$ Set-o noclobber

Use the following command to disable this feature (default ):

$ Set + o noclobber

2. shopt: Enabling and disabling shell features

The built-in command shopt (shell option) enables, disables, and lists some bash features that control shell behavior. For example, the following command will enable bash to include periods (.) When extending fuzzy file references (.) File name starting with-s:

$ Shopt-s dotglob

Use the following command to disable (default) This feature.-utable shows unsetting:

$ Shopt-u dotglob

If you only use the feature name as the unique shopt parameter, shell shows how this feature is set:

$ Shopt dotglob

Dotglob off

When the command shopt does not contain any options or parameters, it lists the features and statuses controlled by shopt. When the shopt-s command does not contain parameters, the features controlled by shopt and set to enabled are listed. Command shopt? U will list the bash features canceled or disabled.
