Tips for quickly turning photos into Lomo photos

Using the "Action" feature in Photoshop, you can batch operations on photos, reduce the confusion over multiple photos, and record specific processes, and then click the recorded action to complete a series of processing steps.

In this example, we take the Black-and-white LOMO effect as an example, for the shadow friends to explain Photoshop "action" function. Black and white LOMO effect refers to the use of a special film camera to shoot the effect, it has a large dark angle, strong contrast, rich texture and other characteristics.

First, the photographer needs to create a new action group to find the action panel, which has the default action from Photoshop. At this point, you need to create a new action group to manage, click the Create New Group button, enter a name, and then create a new action in your own action group. Click the Author new action button, enter the name Lomo effect, and click the Record button. (Figure four and figure V)

In order to be able to unify the final processing effect of the photos, we should first set the size of the original photos, the "Image > Image size" command, the width and height are set to 2000 pixels, so that the picture's aspect ratio is the same, the square photos more convenient to the final LOMO The picture is spliced into the collective display effect of the photo wall, the following figure shows the basic setting of the image size. Set the foreground color to white, the background color to black, the layer > new adjustment layer > Levels Command, and then click Layer Mask thumbnail to select the Elliptical Marquee tool in the toolbox. Take the center of the photo as a dot, and in the photo circle Select a round marquee with feathering effect, and press the Delete key when finished. (Figure Eight)

Double layer thumbnails, set the new adjustment layer to the right, and move the gray field slider in the Adjustments tab to reduce the brightness of the four corners of the picture, creating a common dark corner effect for LOMO photos. (Figure Nine)

In order to create the film particle effect of LOMO photos, select the background copy layer in the Layers panel, perform the filter > Noise > Add Noise command, select the Gaussian Distribution radio button in the Add Noise dialog box, and set the appropriate values, and then click OK to finish processing. To enhance the particle effect, perform the filter > Noise > Add Noise command Again, and this time select the "Distribute evenly" radio button to set the appropriate values. When the settings are complete, click OK to complete the processing. (Figure 11)

To fix the effect of adding noise, make the noise added in the previous step closer to the traditional film effect, you need to use the surface blur filter, perform the filter > Blur > Surface Blur command, and move the RADIUS slider to the desired effect, click OK. (Figure 12)

In this step, convert the photo to black and white, click the Create new Fill or adjust Layer button in the Layers panel, select the Black and White option in the menu, and select the Medium Gray density option in the preset drop-down menu. At this point, the photo will change from color to black and white, and the film's particle effect will also appear. (Figure 13)

Traditional LOMO photos typically have high contrast features, perform the layers > new adjustment layer > Curve command, adjust the curves in the adjustments panel, and increase the contrast of the photos by moving the points on the curve. (Figure 14)

After increasing the contrast of the photo, the processing steps of simulating LOMO effect are basically finished. (Figure 15)

Finally, click the Stop Play/Record button in the action panel to end the recording, and the processing steps for the LOMO effect are fully documented. In the future, as long as the "LOMO effect" is selected in the action panel, you can treat any photo as a similar effect. (Figure 16)
