What is Remote Desktop Connection? The Remote Desktop Connection component is provided by Microsoft Corporation from Windows Server, and it is not installed by default in Windows Server. Because the component has been embraced and liked by many users since its launch, Microsoft has reformed the way the component was enabled in Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, and the latest Windows 7 operating system. The Remote Desktop Connection function can be opened in the next three operating systems with a simple tick.

Microsoft's installation of Remote Desktop Connection in the operating system naturally has its important role. Let's take a look at what the Remote Desktop Connection is capable of.

As the name implies, since it is called Remote Desktop Connection, it should be a remote computer to do some operations. When a computer opens the Remote Desktop Connection function, we can control this computer at the other end of the network, through the Remote Desktop function we can operate the computer in real-time, install software on it, run the program, everything seems to be directly on the computer to operate the same. This is the biggest feature of Remote Desktop, through which the network administrator can safely control the unit's server at home, and since the feature is built-in, it is more convenient and flexible to use than other third-party remote control tools.

To make it easier for users to use Remote Desktop Connection, Microsoft has simplified the steps to open Remote Desktop Connection in Windows Xp, Windows 2003, and Windows 7.

Let's take a look at the most practical Windows Xp and the latest Windows 7 operating system as an example of how Remote Desktop Connection is turned on.

Windows Server

The professional version of Windows 2000 is not able to turn on the Remote Desktop feature for others to access, but the server edition can be turned on, but we need to install the appropriate Windows components. Here's how:

First step: Select Add/Remove Programs in the taskbar from the start with settings, Control Panel.

Step Two: Select "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left.

Step three: The Add Delete Windows Component window appears later, where we select Terminal Services and then click Next to install. One thing to note here is that we need to insert the Windows Server System CD into the CD-ROM during the installation process.

Fourth step: You need to restart the computer after the installation is complete, the installation of the Remote Desktop Connection feature under Windows $ server is completed after rebooting.

Windows Xp

The first step: Right-click on the desktop "My Computer" and select "Properties".

Step Two: Select the "Remote" tab in the System Properties window that pops up.

Step three: Locate "Remote Desktop" in the Remote tab, and after the "Allow users to connect to this computer", check the box to make sure that the Remote Desktop Connection feature is enabled under XP.

Windows 2003

The Windows2003 open method is similar to XP, simplifying the operation steps as well. Here's how: the first step: Right-click on the desktop "My Computer" and select "Properties".

Step Two: Select the "Remote" tab in the System Properties window that pops up.

The third step: find "Remote Desktop" in the Remote tab, after "Allow users to connect to this computer" before the check is OK to complete the 2003 Remote Desktop Connection feature enabled.

Windows VIista

Click "Control Panel"-"system and Maintenance"-"system" or right-click on the desktop computer icon to select "Properties" to open the management interface, select "Remote Settings" in the Task list on the right, the corresponding settings page will pop up. If you are connecting remotely to this system from another client that is also running Windows Vista, you can use the "only allow connections to computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication" option at the bottom, which provides greater security, and if you want to run Windows 2000/ XP clients connect to this system, you can only use "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop", which, of course, poses some risks.

The first step: Remote Desktop settings on the remote computer. Click the computer icon to select the Properties command, click the Remote Settings link in the System window that opens, and select Allow connections to computers running any version of Remote Desktop in the Remote Options window of the system properties that appears, so that the Remote Desktop feature is enabled. Next, go to the "Control Panel-user account and Family Safety" feature to set the password for the account used to log in to the Remote Desktop.

Second step: After the remote computer is set up, you can try to connect to the Remote Desktop on the local machine. Click on the "Start-All Programs-attachments-Remote Desktop Connection" command, click the "Connect" button after opening the Remote Desktop window, then the "Windows Security" window will be entered with the password, enter the password check "Remember my Credentials" option to automatically log on to the remote Desktop the next time you connect.
