Article Title: Tips: Using Grub to start 98 and XP. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.
I installed three systems, redhat, 98 and xp. when grub is used for startup, redhat or dos is always selected first. If dos is selected, grub is submitted to ntloader and 98 or XP is selected again. This is obviously troublesome.
Later, I referred to info grub and menu. lst. Find a way to start 98 and xp directly under grub, so that you do not need to select in ntloader.

Chainloader/bootsect. dos
Normally, after 98 and xp are installed, there will be a bootsect. dos file (hidden) in the primary partition drive C ). If you used ntloader to start 98 and xp, you can go to c: \ boot. the following statement is displayed in ini: "c: \ bootsect. dos = 'windows 98 '", which indicates
Bootsect. dos is the 98 boot block. Therefore, you only need to specify the file in grub. conf.
