Server
DHCP is used for dynamic allocation of IP address services, when a network of more computers, we need to manually set the IP address for each client, subnet mask, DNS and gateway and other addresses, operation is very troublesome. With DHCP we can be a dedicated DHCP server for the client to assign the above network parameter information, so that in the management will be more relaxed, even if the next gateway or DNS and other information changes will only modify the parameters of the server, but not every computer has been modified.
Win2003 to establish a DHCP server under the method and 2000 slightly different, more user-friendly interface, today to show you how to set up a DHCP server under Windows 2003.
Step one: Start the Service Configuration window with the "Start-> program-> Administrative Tools-> Manage Your server" from the taskbar. (Figure 1)
Figure 1
Step two: In the Manage Your Server window, click Add or remove roles to configure the server role. (Figure 2)
Figure 2
Step three: Turn on the "next" button immediately after configuring Your Server Wizard. (Figure 3)
Figure 3
The fourth step: the system will automatically scan the current open service and status, depending on the server hardware configuration time will be different, generally 2 minutes or so. (Figure 4)
Figure 4
Fifth step: If the DHCP service is not enabled on this computer, the DHCP server is configured to "No" in the server role. (Figure 5)
Figure 5
Step sixth: In the above window select the "Next" button after the "DHCP server" to begin installing the DHCP server and automatically create a new scope. (Figure 6)
Figure 6
Step seventh: The system configures the DHCP service component and is automatically installed on the local computer's hard disk. (Figure 7)
Figure 7
Eighth step: When the component is installed, the New Scope Wizard is automatically enabled, allowing the user to create a new scope. (Figure 8)
Figure 8
Nineth Step: A name for the scope of the establishment. (Figure 9)
Figure 9
Step Tenth: Configure the scope IP address range, set the starting IP address and end IP address, and the length and settings of the subnet mask. We can quickly set the parameters of a network mask by entering a number at the subnet mask setting length. Here we set the DHCP scope IP address to 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.253. (Figure 10)
