You must use Project Server 2007 or the Project Server 2010 account to log on to Project Server2010. Once you have a valid account, just start Project Professional 2010 and enter your user name and password in the Login dialog box.
Note If you receive a "Project Server Unavailable" message when you try to connect to Project Server, check with your server administrator to determine if you are a member of the right to Projec T log on to the Project Server group. By default, the project Managers group has this permission, but the team members group does not have this permission.
Create a Project Server account
1. Click the File tab to open the Backstage view. Click Info, and then click Manage Accounts.
2. Click Configure Account.
3. in the Project Server Account dialog box, click Add.
4. In the Account Properties dialog box, in the Account name box, type a name for this account.

1. in the Project server URL box, type the full server name (for example,http://yourserver/servername). If you do not know the server URL, please contact your server administrator.
2. under When connected, click the type of account you want to use to sign in:
· to use Windows authentication, click Use Windows user accounts.
· to use the Project Server account, click Use Project Server account, and then provide a user name in the User name box.
3. to set this account as the default Project Server account, select the Set as default account check box.
4. If you want to add additional Project Server accounts, repeat step 2 through step 6 for each additional account.
5. in the Project Server Account dialog box, do one of the following:
· If you want Project to automatically detect and connect to the default server specified in the Available accounts area, select Use my default account. If you do not specify a default server, Project opens in offline mode without connecting to the server.
· Select Select Account if you want to select the server that you want to connect to every time you open Project. Use this option if you need to visit more than one server frequently, or if you anticipate that you might want to use Project in offline mode sometimes.
6. to log on to the server, close and restart Project.
Edit an existing account
1. Click the File tab to open the Backstage view. Click Info, and then click Manage Accounts.
2. Click Configure Account.
3. in the Project Server Account dialog box, select an account, and then click Properties. Make your changes in the Account Properties dialog box.
Delete Account
1. Click the File tab to open the Backstage view. Click Info, and then click Manage Accounts.
2. Click Configure Account.
3. in the Project Server Account dialog box, select an account, and then click Remove.
To log into Project Server from a Web browser
When a workgroup publishes project information to Project Server 2010, team members can use Project Web App to view that information. In addition, they can report on the progress of tasks assigned to them.
1.     start the browser and enter Project The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for the Web access Web site.
note The URLs for Project Web apps in each organization are different. If you do not know the URL of the Project Web App in your organization, please contact your administrator.
2. after displaying the login page, enter your user name and password.
Note You may not need to enter your login information, depending on the authentication method you are using.
