To manually connect Reporting Services to Microsoft Dynamics CRM, follow these steps:
- On Microsoft CRM 3.0 installation CD, double-click the Setup.exe file and follow the instructions on the screen. The Setup.exe file is located in the following folder:<CD root drive> \ SRS
- Install Reporting Services Service Pack 2 (SP2 ). Find the SP2Setup.exe file and double-click it. The SP2Setup.exe file is located in the following folder: <CD root drive> \ SRS \ sp2setup_1033
- Use rsconfig to configure a report server instance so that you can use the correct Report Server database. Therefore, run the following command at the command prompt:Rsconfig-c-sSqlservername-DReportdatabasename-A windows
Note::
- In this command,SqlservernameThe name of the actual report server instance,ReportdatabasenameIndicates the name of the actual database.
- Rsconfig is located in the following folder: C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ 80 \ Tools \ Binn
- For more information about the rsconfig tool, run the following command at the command prompt: rsconfig /?
- Publish a report. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the "command prompt" window. At the command prompt, use the following path to open the Reports Folder:C: \ program files \ microsoft crm \ reports
- At the command prompt, run the following command:Publishreports.exe"Company name""Domain\ Reportinggroup{GUID}"
Note:: In this step, an appropriate value is requiredCompanyname,DomainAnd{GUID}.
- Grant the report the correct permissions. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the default website where Reporting Services is installed, use the following path to open the Reports Folder:Http ://YourSRSserver/Reports
- Click properties ". ClickYour_Org_Name_ Mscrm folder.Note:: In this step,Your_Org_NameThe company name you entered during Microsoft CRM installation.
- Click the Security tab.
- Use the specified role to add the following groups:
- BUILTIN \ Administrators: Content Manager
- DOMAINNAME\ ReportingGroup{GUID}: Browser for Microsoft CRM
- Nt authority \ network service: Publisher for Microsoft CRM
Note:: If any of the above groups is missing, you must add the missing groups. To add a group to Reporting Services, follow these steps:
- On the "Security" tab, click "create role assignment ".
- In the "Group" field or "User Name" field, TypeDOMAINNAME\ REPORTINGGROUP{GUID}.
Note:: In this step, an appropriate value is requiredDOMAINNAMEAnd{GUID}.
- Click to select the "Browser for Microsoft CRM" check box. Click OK ".
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 to add the missing group. Assign the "Publisher for Microsoft CRM" role to the nt authority \ network service Group, and then assign the "Content Manager" role to BUILTIN \ Administrator.
Note:: If the Microsoft CRM Server runs on Windows 2000 Server, you must add the computer accountYour_Org_Name_ Mscrm Folder Security Settings.
- Copy the style sheet of the Microsoft CRM report to the Reporting Services installation. To do this, follow these steps:
- Copy the Mscrm.css file named "、mscrmx.css" and the "mscrmp.css" file from Microsoft CRM Server CD to the style folder installed by Reporting Services. These files are located in the following folder of the CD:Wwwroot \ CRMReports \ rsstyles
By default, the path of the style folder is:
C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ MSSQL \ Reporting Services \ ReportServer \ styles
- Select all four files.
- Right-click the selected file. Click properties ".
- Click the Security tab. Click Add ".
- TypeUserGroup. Click OK ".Note:: In this step,UserGroupIs a placeholder that contains the Active Directory groups of all Microsoft CRM users.
- ModifyUserGroupTo select only the read permission in the "allow" column. Click OK ".
