To_date errors caused by different locales in Oracle

Wrote a stored procedure, which used a function, the function has a section of To_date (Datefrom, ' Yyyy/mm/dd '), after the run to find data insertion error, inserted data for "0001/9/14." Feel baffled, do not know why this is the data, after debugging, I found in the test window entered the date "2014/9/1" in the program into a "01-sep-14", an instant epiphany, originally as September 14, 01.

Know the reason to say, the direct release of the solution: To_date (To_char (datefrom, ' yyyy/mm/dd '), ' yyyy/mm/dd '). Run again, record successfully.
