Toshba satellite u300 problems with Windows XP system modified by pre-installed Vista system

A friend's notebook is in the Middle East to buy toshba satellite U300-111, pre-installed is the English version of the Vista system, after returning home to the Chinese version of Windows XP system, but often failed, so look for me. I thought it was not difficult, not just installing a system !!

I. Suspected Partition Table

I took a look at this book. The hard disk is 160 GB and divided into two NTFS partitions. I didn't directly Insert the disc to install Windows XP, instead, use partion magic in DOS to check the partition. The system will prompt the partition error "error... ", And cannot do any operation. In desperation, I had to re-start to Vista. The strange thing is that the D partition just disappeared. Only the Vista system partition was there. I guess there is a problem with the partition table. In dos, I use disk man to check the partition table. It seems that this software does not recognize the hard disk, and the software is in the dead state when it is run. If you use kv3000, you can go in and find that there is a problem with the partition table. If you press F10 for testing, the system will prompt that there is an error with the partition table. Press F6 to enter the first sector and find that DPT is only 48 bytes (actually 64 bytes ), the Logical Disk D cannot be found. Based on the previous phenomena and the knowledge of the partition table, we initially determined that the partition table has a problem (Later I found that after restoring the original Vista system to the kv3000 with a random attached restoration disc, I still found that DPT is only 48 bytes, but Vista can run normally, so I haven't figured out this problem yet, I don't know if Sata is different from IDE, but the SCSI hard disk partition tables I used to contact are all unified rules.).

Since there is a problem with the partition table, we need to reconstruct the partition table, clear the DPT to 0, and then use fdisk/MBR to recreate the table. However, we still cannot do this. partion magic still does not recognize this partition. No way. You may only need to manually calculate the partition table to restore it. Although you have successfully processed the Partition Table several times before, the process is complicated and painful !! Besides, I forgot about the details. I searched some Partition Table-relatedArticleWhile watching and remembering, people without patience and experience are indeed like reading tianshu. Fortunately, they have played with this thing during college (When I have time to sort out the Partition Table knowledge, write a smallProgramTo automatically analyze the partition information, so that you do not have to calculate the partition one by one. Another tool is not bad"Imported conversion v2.1.exe"). When I was about to start calculating partition information, I accidentally found that there was content in the 7th sector, which is very similar to MBR, so I tried to restore it to the first sector and restart it, next to partion magic, this time it can identify partitions. unexpectedly, I don't have to calculate the complicated binary data. Then I used partion magic to repartition and format the hard disk.

Next, I will insert the XP installation disk into the system, start to install the XP system, and start everything normal, but when the file copy is complete to prepare for installation, the prompt "the installer cannot find the disk drive ", then we can continue. Is it NTFS partition? XP supports NTFS partitions! I changed all partitions to the FAT32 format and installed them again. I still cannot find the hard drive.

II. It is basically determined that the SATA driver is missing.

Searching on the Internet is a problem with the hard disk SATA interface. The general XP installation disk does not contain the SATA driver, so the hard disk cannot be identified during installation. Therefore, the disk drive cannot be found, but this problem does not exist in the IDE interface mode. Generally, there is a SATA interface and IDE interface switch in the bios, but this damn version is a lite version of BIOS. This switch is not provided, so you can only use the SATA interface. Of course, you can load the SATA driver by pressing F6 during the installation of XP, but the premise is that you need a soft drive or a USB-based extended soft drive, which is none of my hands. The only feasible method is to integrate the SATA driver into the XP installer.

There are a lot of Windows XP installation files with Sata on the Internet for download. I have downloaded two files, so you can install them directly after the download. Because there is no burner, I want to copy the installation file to the D drive of the computer under Vista, and then run the installation program "i386 \ WINNT" in the D Drive under DOS ". However, the two disks in the restored Vista are partitioned by NTFS, and the conversion to FAT32 is provided in Vista. partion magic also thinks that the partition has an error. Search and find a toolAcronisdiskdirector10(Download, SN:KNMKZ-QKLE5-H5BE3-S2S5Q-7WF3E), PartitionPowerful functionsAfter being installed in Vista, I can convert the format of the partition. I will convert the D disk to the FAT32 format, copy the downloaded XP installation file with Sata TO THE D disk, and then run the installation program under DOS, I thought it could be installed. Who knows that the installation interface is not started when the copy file is restarted?Blue Screen. I also tried to restore the pure XP ghost file to the C drive, and the blue screen also appeared at startup. I guess the reason is that the SATA driver does not match.

3. Create a Windows XP installation disk with the corresponding SATA driver

It seems that only Sata is integrated into the Windows XP installer. From article http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa? Messageid = 106943 get a lot of inspiration, first from http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp? Service = EU website download SATA driver"Stormng-20070828123444.zip", After decompression, the file under" Matrix Storage Manager \ f6flpy \ ich8m_32bit "is the SATA driver we want (find the corresponding folder if it is ic1_m ). If the driver cannot be found, you can use the driver genie to extract the driver under Vista or refer to the driver.

Software integration or manual integration can be used to drive integration into the XP installer. If you use software integration, you can use a convenient tool.NliteYou can generate an ISO image file when integrating the driver, as described in http: // 195.182.196.33/kb0/tsb85017z1_r01.htm. If it is manually integrated, You need to modify i386 \ txtsetup. Sif and other files. Article "How to Improve the Windows XP SP2 SATA driver integration" Article.

After integrating the driver, I started to save the trouble of burning. I copied the installation program to the hard disk and directly ran winnt on the hard disk to install it, however, "cannot copy files to c: \ $ win_nt $. ~ Ls \ i386 \ i386 \ nldrv \ 001, setup was unable to create the following directory on the target drive "error, or error of" CD installation disk not found. After the installation program is burned to the CD, no error will occur after installation. In addition, although nlite comes with the ability to create image files with boot programs, ultraiso is also a good tool for ISO production.

Iv. XP system updates

After the Windows XP system is installed, I wanted to enable automatic update and install some patches. However, when I update the "Update programs for the smart Transmission Service (BITs) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1", I cannot install them, the installation of SP2 patch is always prompted"Because the language installed on your system is different from the updated language". About language problems, http://www.2hand.cn/article.asp? Id = 148HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ controlset001 \ Control \ NLS \ LanguageLowerInstallAndDefaultlanguageThe value is related (the value is 1004-Chinese-Singapore, the value is 0804-Chinese-China, and the value is 0409-English-United States ).

During automatic updates, Microsoft installed genuine patches. After restarting, the system prompts that the CD Key is invalid and does not allow access to the system. Many methods are invalid, so you have to re-burn an installation disk with SP2, at the same time online to find some Windows serial number http://hi.baidu.com/wb_zb/blog/item/513eee32703d2345ac4b5f2d.html (list twoHCQ9D-TVCWX-X9QRG-J4B2Y-GR2TT, T72KM-6GWBP-GX7TD-CXFT2-7WT2B).

V. Driver Installation Problems

After the system is installed, next is to install the driver, the driver can be in the http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp? Service = EU website download. However, after the driver is installed, the system still cannot identify the USB. Finally, find all the drivers "USB root Hub" and restart them.

another problem is that the system prompts "End program sample" when the system is disabled ", refer to Article detail " & quot; OK.
