Before upgrade,We recommend that you understand the following information:
1. You do not need to upgrade the software when the vro is running normally.
2. New software is usually used to optimize the vro. In non-special cases, it is not recommended to pick up the old software.
3. Do not use third-party upgrade software such as DD-WRT or OpenWRT.
4. Alibaba Cloud vro supports online and local upgrades. After the WAN port of the vro is connected to the Internet, the vrowan can be upgraded online. You do not need to manually download the software. It is easy to operate. We recommend that you use online upgrades.
5. After the upgrade is complete, the vro configuration will not be lost. You do not need to reset the vro to directly access the Internet.

The upgrade method is divided into the following three types. Select the upgrade method based on the actual situation:
Type 1: ECS automatic push upgrade software
After the vrowan WAN port is connected to IoT platform, go to the vro management page.
Login
TP-LINK IDIf new software is available, the ECS automatically pushes a software upgrade reminder. When you log on to the vro management page, an upgrade prompt is displayed, as shown in the figure below:

Upgrade NowTo download and upgrade the software:
After the download is complete, the system automatically upgrades:
Wait until the upgrade is complete.
Type 2: manually check and upgrade software on the Management Interface
If there is no login TP-LINK ID in the router after the router WAN port is connected successfully, you need

If a new software is detected, the interface prompts the following:
Note:If you are prompted that the current version is up to date, you do not need to upgrade the software.

Upgrade online to the latest version.The router automatically downloads and upgrades the software. Wait until the upgrade is successful.
Type 3: Local manual software upgrade
Vro supports online upgrade. Manual upgrade is not recommended. For special cases, refer to the following methods:

Download and upgrade software
In the TP-LINK official website software download center, enter the product model, find the corresponding hardware version of the upgrade software, as shown below:
Note:: Software of different hardware versions cannot be upgraded. Please download the software of the corresponding hardware version.
Click the software you want to download. In this example, download the V5.0 _ 151225 standard edition and click the Download Now icon to save the software to your computer desktop.
Right-click the downloaded software and decompress it to the desktop.

The page prompts you to upload the firmware. After the firmware is uploaded, the update starts.

Confirm that the upgrade is successful
After the upgrade is completed and restarted, the Web interface is automatically refreshed and returned to the vro interface.
