Some on-screen routers support online and local upgrades. After the WAN port of the router is successfully connected to the Internet, the router can be upgraded online without manual software downloading. Perform online upgrades on the vro screen without logging on to the management interface. This topic describes how to update a vro through a screen.
Note:: TL-H69RT and TL-WR842 + does not support screen update software.
Upgrade Considerations
1. You do not need to upgrade the software when the vro is running normally.
2. During screen upgrade, you must use the WAN port of the router to connect to the internet. If you use a LAN port to access the frontend network or wireless WDS to access the frontend main signal, you cannot use the screen upgrade software.
3. During the upgrade, do not disconnect the power of the router; otherwise, the router may be damaged.
4. After the upgrade, the original configurations of the vro will not be lost and you do not need to reset the vro.

The following uses TL-WDR6510 as an example to describe how to update the screen.
Upgrade method

Note:: If new software cannot be detected, the current software version of the vro is the latest version. You do not need to upgrade the software.

Update now, The router automatically downloads the upgrade software, as shown in the figure below:
After the software upgrade is downloaded, click

After the upgrade is successful, the vro restarts automatically, as shown in the following figure:
Wait until the vro is started and the software upgrade is complete.
After the upgrade, the original configurations of the vro will not be lost. In this case, the LAN port of the computer's wired connection router or the wireless signal of the wireless connection router can access the internet normally.
