Background

However, the signal of one bedroom and bathroom is poor, the network speed of the mobile phone is slow, and the video is not smooth. As shown in the following figure:

I heard that the two wireless routers can be bridging, and the wireless signal can be amplified without cable pulling. James plans to buy a new dual-band router to bridge the amplification signal. TP-LINK staff told James, just use the new buy dual-band router to enable the WDS function Bridge TL-WDR5600, according to the guidance of the bridge is successful, you can achieve the original home 2.4G and 5G signal are enhanced, in addition, you can achieve roaming switching during the movement process. Configuration method

Before setting WDS bridging, be sure to understand the following:

A. No network cable is required between the two routers.
B. You only need to configure WDS bridging on the secondary router.

1Enter the management interface of the secondary router

Connect the operating computer to the LAN port of the secondary Router. If you use a laptop or Pad to set it, connect to the TP-LINK_XXXX (with the Signal name on the back. Open the web browser, clear the address bar, and enter tplogin.cn (or 192.168.1.1) to log on to the management interface.

Note:: Some vrouters need to be set to 6 ~ for the first time ~ 15-bit password.

2Enable bridge application

On the management page, clickApplication Management, Find Wireless bridging, ClickEnter, As shown in the following figure:

After entering the wireless bridging Settings Wizard, clickStart setting, As follows:

4Scan and select the main router signal

The secondary router automatically scans the peripheral signal. Because both the primary and secondary routers support 5G frequencies, 5G interference is low. Here, the signal of the 5G band is switched. Select the 5G signal of the primary router, enter the corresponding wireless password, and clickNext Step:

Note:: If no signal is scanned, make sure that the primary router enables wireless broadcast and try to reduce the distance between the primary and secondary routers.

5Record the management of the secondary routerIPAddress

The primary router assigns an IP address to the secondary Router. You need to use this IP address to manage the secondary Router. We recommend that you write down the IP address and clickNext Step.

6Set the wireless password of the secondary router

We recommend that you keep the default value here and clickNext Step, As follows:

Note:: The wireless parameters of the secondary router can be set here, but if you want to implement wireless roaming, it must remain unchanged.

7, Confirm that the bridge is successful

Enter againApplication ManagementWireless bridging, You can see that the bridge status isBridging successful(If you use a wireless terminal, the default signal of the secondary router disappears, and the enlarged signal needs to be connected), as shown below:

The dual-band router acts as the secondary router to bridge the main router. During the wireless bridging process, we only configure the wireless signal name and password for one frequency band. We also need to configure another frequency band. For example, if you use 5G band bridging, you need to separately set a 2G wireless signal. ClickNetwork StatusModify the relevant settings. If the master router is also a dual-band router, set the signal name and password to be consistent with the master router to achieve roaming:

Now, the wireless bridging (WDS) configuration is complete, and the final network effect is as follows:

The 2.4G and 5G signals supported by the primary and secondary routers can be connected and used. As long as the signal names and passwords in the same band are consistent, the system can automatically roam. James's wired computers, network TVs, and so on can use a network cable to connect to any LAN port of the primary or secondary router to access the Internet.

After completing the bridging settings, how can I log on to the secondary router management interface?
The secondary router supports three logon modes:
① Use an IP address: use the modified IP address of the LAN port to log on. For more information, see Step 2;
② Use tplogin.cn: the terminal device uses a network cable to connect to the LAN port of the secondary router or to connect to the secondary router. Enter tplogin.cn in the browser to log on.

③ Mobile APP management: on the secondary router login TP-LINK ID, mobile phone installation APP and use TP-LINK ID login, in the APP interface in the router list select secondary router for management.

Connect the secondary router after wireless bridgingWANCannot be used?

After wireless bridging, the WAN port of the secondary router cannot be used. The Internet computer can connect to the LAN port of the secondary router.
