There are two types of NVR upgrade methods:
1. USB interface upgrade: use a USB flash drive (or other storage devices) to copy the software and insert the USB.

2. WEB interface upgrade: Download and upgrade software from your computer.

The following describes the two upgrade methods in detail.
Method 1: upgrade the GUI

View NVR models and hardware versions
You can view the specific model and hardware version on the back of NVR housing, as shown below:
Note:This paper takes TL-NVR5108 as an example. Other NVR models can be operated in a similar way.

Download and upgrade software from the official website
On TP-LINK official website
Download CenterIn this example, enter the TL-NVR5108, the search results are as follows:
In the figure above, the 160613 standard edition represents the June 13, 2016 Standard Edition software. The newer the software date, the newer the software version. Click the latest version of the standard software and download it to your computer.
The downloaded upgrade software is a compressed package. Decompress the package. Then copy the unzipped NVR upgrade software to USB storage devices such as USB flash drives.

Insert the USB flash drive with updated software copied to the nvr usb interface.

Note:If the message "external storage device not detected" is displayed, make sure that you have inserted a USB flash drive and other mobile storage devices to the nvr usb interface.

Confirm that the upgrade is successful
After the upgrade is complete, go back to this page to view the current software, indicating that the upgrade is successful.
Method 2: upgrade the WEB interface

Log on to the nvr web interface
Connect your computer and NVR to the same LAN. Enter the NVR management address in the address bar of your browser and log on to the NVR interface. If you forget the NVR management address, check it on the GUI.
