Tplink tl-wa830re Routers use a computer to set up a wireless extender?

Wireless Extender is a Wi-Fi signal amplifier, it is the role of your home, office and other environments have but the weak wireless Wi-Fi to enhance the amplification, so that each corner has a strong signal. The following figure:

The purpose of using an Extender is to enhance the amplification of existing wireless signals, so make sure you know which signal you are going to magnify and the wireless password for this signal before setting up.

This article describes how to set up a Tl-wa830re wireless extender using your computer.

Set method

1 , computer connection extender default signal

Plug the extender into the USB connector on the charger (or the USB port of the device such as mobile power, computer, etc.). The Extender launches a wireless signal with the name tp-link_re_xxxx(x is the four digits after the MAC address). This signal is temporarily used to set the Extender, and the signal disappears when the setting is complete. The following figure:

Many users are connected to other Wi-Fi signals, resulting in the inability to enter the interface. So be sure to connect to this "temporary" signal .

Note: If the factory default signal is not searched, it may have been set, and we recommend resetting the Extender .

2 , access to the Extender management interface

Open the browser on your computer (ie, chrome or 360 security browser, etc.), clear the Address bar and manually enter the login address tplogin.cn or 192.168.1.253, after the login page appears, Set the password for a 6-bit and above management Extender, and click Start to set the Extender when the settings are complete. The following figure:

hint: The password must not be less than 6 digits, please remember this password.

3 , scanning signal

Into the Extender settings interface, the Extender will automatically scan the perimeter signal, waiting for a while, the following figure:

In the list of scanned signals to find the signal you want to expand, select the signal (if the search is not available, the signal may be too weak or for the Chinese signal, please modify the name of the extended signal), the following figure:

Enter the wireless password for the extended signal , click expand , as shown below:

Note : The wireless name of the Extender remains the same as the wireless signal name to be extended to enable roaming.

Setup complete , as shown in the following figure:

Observe the light condition on the device and if green or orange is displayed, the extension is successful.

4 , extended success

After successful expansion, please insert the Extender in the previous weak area of the signal (please do not go too far), about 30 seconds to expand the success, adjust the appropriate location, orange to indicate that the Extender is too far from the main router, green is advisable (can be seen through the LED or Login Extender management interface)

At this point, the factory default signal of the extender disappears and the wireless name and password of the transmitter are identical to the original signal of the extension. Your phone can automatically connect to the extended signal (also can be manually operated), connect the signal after the Internet.
