Symptoms:
You will see the following message in the alert. log of the asm instance:
NOTE: ASMB process exiting due to lack of ASM file activity
Asmb runs in the database instance that uses the asm disk group.
Asmb processes communicate with asm instance processes to manage storage and provide statistical information.
Asmb can also run in the asm instance
When the asmcmd cp command is run or the spfile (which is stored in the asm disk group) is used to start the database instance, the asmb process runs.
We can do the following translation:
+ Normally, the asmb process runs in the database instance that uses the asm disk group.
+ The asmb process runs in the asm instance only when the following conditions occur:
Run the asmcmd cp command
Or
When you start a database instance using spfile (which is stored in the asm disk group ),
Therefore, the message in the asm instance alert Log is quite clear:
Since no activity exists, I will quit (quit)
Solution:
This is notification information. This does not mean that your asm instance has any problems. You can safely ignore this message.
