Method 1:
  
1. Start the computer with the boot disk
  
2. Create a Windows 2000 boot disk that contains the following files:

Ntdetect.com
Boot. ini

4. Insert the boot disk into the computer's floppy disk drive and restart the computer.
  
5. Copy the Ntldr file, Ntdetect.com file, and Boot. ini file from the Boot disk to the local disk system partition.
  
Method 2: Use Recovery Console

B. Save the file as Boot. ini to the disk.

3. On the "Windows 2000 repair options" Page, press R.
  
4. When you are prompted to "select one from the following repair options", press the M key.
