Troubleshoot problems that occur after you illegally uninstall SQL 2005

This type of problem typically occurs when you illegally uninstall SQL 2005.

In the start--> "Run", enter regedit to open Registry Editor.

Locate to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib

, you can see 004 and 92 subdirectories under the Perflib directory in the right tree directory.

The SQL Server 2005 installation help file says that you need to view the 009 directory registry entries, and most of us use the Simplified Chinese operating system, so we can't say it in help, but we need to be aware of the contents of the 004 directory.
