One, CPU and IE incompatibility caused by the crash troubleshooting

Failure performance: The author at the end of 2004 configured a computer, the specific configuration is: The CPU is the Intel Pentium 4 2.4CGHz (support Hyper-Threading technology), the motherboard is the use of I865PE chipset upgrade IS7-E, onboard 10/ 100Mbps Adaptive Network card and 5.1-Channel AC ' 97 sound card, memory is two 256MB of Kingston DDR400 (composed of dual-channel mode), graphics card is Elsa Radium 9800SE. Third, the cooling fan shutdown caused the computer crash failure

Fault phenomenon: Recently, the author in the use of computers, the machine frequently appears a blue warning window, and then panic.

Failure Analysis: Because the warning content is garbled, before the failure and just installed a software downloaded from the Internet, so suspect is the software with a virus, then the software installed to remove and use KV3000, rising 2001 anti-virus software to check, kill operations, have not found the virus. Shutdown and reboot, about 5 minutes later, the phenomenon again, repeated many times still so. Carefully pondering, feel that the above fault is not caused by the virus, because the machine each reboot, the beginning of the normal work, only a few minutes after the crash phenomenon, which seems to be some of the machine hardware, especially the temperature of the CPU, and then determine the hardware has failed.

Troubleshooting: Shutdown, open the mainframe box check, when hand touch to the CPU heat sink, feel very hot, this is obviously not normal, suspected CPU chips or fans have problems. When the cover is open, the machine is turned on, and the CPU fan is slow to rotate and has lost its normal heat dissipation function.

Shut down, remove the fan, when the fan blades are touched by hand, the fan blades are not very flexible, so the small screwdriver is inserted into the bottom of the fan blades, and then the fan blade is separated from the fans, and then the blades are pulled off, See a round-shaped piece of firmware surrounded by a few small arc magnets at the center of the fan blades, obviously this is the rotor of the fan motor, and the stator is a miniature winding which is fixed with the fan blades, and if the fan blades are combined with the fan seat, the miniature winding can just be inserted into the rotor's interior.

Further observation found that the top of the stator shaft and the bearing parts connected with the rotor have some dry black sludge, wipe it clean with gauze, then point a few drops of lubricating oil at the place, and then combine fan blades and fan seats together, at this point, gently pull the fan blades with your fingers to easily rotate. Re-install the fan on the CPU heatsink, after 10 minutes of power, and then touch the CPU heatsink, the feeling temperature only in the micro-thermal state, indicating that the fan cooling function has been restored. After building the chassis, reboot and reinstall the system, all normal, long continuous operation, the above failure has not occurred.
