My friend told me that his machine has always been shut down and restarted recently, but this has never happened before. The main configurations of a friend's computer are: P4 2.0GHz CPU, gigabyte 8IR533 (845D) motherboard, and yingtong G6200 graphics card. Windows xp OS is used.

Open a friend's computer, upgrade the anti-virus software, and scan for viruses. The fault is still not ruled out. I think that some old motherboard BIOS, its advanced power management does not support Windows XP system shutdown, this phenomenon occurs. However, my friend's computer was not bought for a long time. Besides, this phenomenon did not happen during the previous period of use. Therefore, the possibility that the Windows XP operating system cannot be shut down due to the failure of advanced power management is ruled out.

When I started the computer again, I found that the computer stopped after self-check and asked to press the "F1" key to continue. This is a typical Boot failure caused by insufficient power supply of the motherboard CMOS battery. My friend said that the battery on the motherboard should not be idle when the computer was just bought for half a year. I opened my colleague's chassis and checked the motherboard carefully. I found that the patch cord on the CMOS jumper next to the motherboard's battery disappears. My friend told me that the computer had a lot of noise a few days ago. He opened the chassis and cleaned it up. However, after cleaning, the computer experienced a shutdown and reboot failure. It seems that this patch CAP may be accidentally lost when a friend cleans up the dust a few days ago, and the reason why it restarts after it is turned off is likely to be related to the CMOS settings. I found a patch cap, installed on the computer, restored the default settings in CMOS, save and quit. Reboot and the fault persists. I entered CMOS again. In the power management menu, I found that "PME Event Wake up" (PME Event Wake-up) is "Enable" (default) and changed it to "Disable ". Turn on the computer again to troubleshoot
