Installing On debian is extremely simple
Apt-get install mpd MCM
The configuration should also be simple,/etc/mpd. conf
There are only four places to change. music_directory and playlist_directory should be changed to the directory where your own music is stored. There is also a user. You 'd better change it to your frequently-used account so that the MPD daemon can easily read and write data, there is also filesystem_charset changed to the system default encoding, such as UTF-8.
Other directories can be modified or not, but remember that if you change the user, be sure to change the user to mpd. all directories and files involved in the conf file must have the read and write permissions. Otherwise, the daemon may fail to start.
