I recently heard that Microsoft will stop updating Outlook Express. Its replacement is Windows Live Mail.
Windows Live Mail is one of Microsoft's Windows Live products, including Windows Live messengr, Windows Live space, and Windows Live writer.
Live Mail has powerful functions. In addition to all Outlook Express functions (including news groups), it also has a more powerful junk mail processing mechanism (the same as outlook2003 + ), in addition, features that have never been available in Outlook Express are added: to minimize the size of the system tray.
As live mail is a replacement of Outlook Express, It is very convenient to import all oe accounts and historical emails to Live Mail without any restriction after Live Mail is started. When writing a letter, the HTML syntax is better supported, and the memory usage is equal to OE. Moreover, the built-in support for messenger and live space is a very good software.
I also found a few bad points during use:
1. Mail List on the left: this is not a problem for ordinary users (only one or two frequently-used mailboxes). It is very complicated for me (more than a dozen mailboxes, each mailbox has several directories, which is inconvenient to manage.
2. Email search is the same as outlook2007. You can only search for titles. If you want to search for content, you must install Windows desktop search. Currently, Google Desktop Search does not support searching Live Mail emails (I am a supporter of GDS, with simple interfaces, low memory usage, and powerful functions ), this is also the biggest reason why I don't use Live Mail (there are too many emails and searching is not supported will go crazy ).
However, if an ordinary individual user has only one or two mailboxes and does not have a large number of emails to search for, they need to work with Live Messenger and require software with low memory usage, so we recommend Windows Live Mail to everyone. It is indeed a very good software.
