Turn Windows 7 laptop into a WiFi hotspot and share the Internet with your mobile phone and iPad!

Change the wireless network of Windows 7 laptop into a Wi-Fi hotspot, so that mobile phones and laptops can access the Internet.

We use win7 to establish a wireless LAN, which enables shared Internet access and local network games.

As we all know, the "set temporary network" in the laptop network settings cannot be connected by a mobile phone. In this way, the notebook can be identical to the WiFi of a wireless router, try it now!

If you want to change your laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot, You need to enable the hidden functions of Windows 7: Virtual WiFi and softap (Virtual Wireless AP) to turn your computer into a wireless router and achieve Internet sharing, save the network fee and router purchase fee. I personally passed the test, so you can feel free to use it.

A laptop with Windows 7 OS or a desktop with a wireless network card is used as the host.

The host settings are as follows:

1Run Command Prompt as Administrator:

Shortcut Key win + R → Enter cmd → press ENTER

2Enable and set the virtual WiFi NIC:

Run the command: netsh WLAN set hostednetwork mode = allow SSID = pcwifi key = 12345678.

This command has three parameters: Mode: whether to enable the virtual Wi-Fi network card. If it is changed to disallow, It is disabled.

SSID: the name of the wireless network. It is best to use English (pcwifi is used as an example ).

Key: wireless network password, which consists of more than eight characters (take 12345678 as an example ).

The preceding three parameters can be used independently. For example, you can disable a virtual Wi-Fi network card by using mode = disallow only.

After it is enabled, a wireless connection 2 with the network adapter "Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport adapter" will be displayed in the network connection. For convenience, rename it virtual wifi. If no, you only need to update the wireless NIC Driver.

3, Set Internet Connection Sharing:

In the "Network Connection" window, right-click a network connection that has been connected to the Internet, select "properties"> "share", and check "allow others... connection (n) "and select" virtual WiFi ".
After confirmation, "shared" will appear next to the shared Nic icon, indicating that "Broadband connection" has been shared to "virtual WiFi ".

4Enable wireless network:

To enable the wireless network, run netsh WLAN start hostednetwork in the command prompt.

(Change start to stop to disable the wireless network. To enable the wireless network after it is started, you only need to run this command again)

How to disable the wireless network: netsh WLAN stop hostednetwork

Now, the Red Cross of virtual WiFi disappears, the Wi-Fi base station has been set up, and the host has been set up. Laptops, mobile phones with WiFi modules, and other sub-computers can find wireless network pcwifi. Enter the password 12345678 to share the internet!

 

 

Appendix: Command for displaying Wireless Network Information: netsh WLAN show hostednetwork

The WLAN emitted by a virtual Wireless AP is based on 802.11g and the bandwidth is 54 Mbps.
