Lightroom is a very convenient and powerful tool, but speed is not very ideal for many people, how can it be faster? In addition to improving the hardware, from the photographer Andrew S. Gibson, the following steps and techniques can effectively improve the speed of using LR repair.
Focus: Turn RAW files into DNG format, and "Inline Quick load data" (fast load data) and create a 1:1 preview so that you can use a higher speed when zooming in or out of the image. It can only be used when Adobe converts a dng, but if the camera itself is photographed with dng, there is no inline fast loading data.
Settings: Edit-> Preferences-> File processing (edit–> preference–> files handling) (below), tick "Inline quick load data"
Step: When reading a photo (for example, when the SD card is read), select Copy as DNG, then create a preview in the right column (build previews) set to 1:1, and set up a destination to store the DNG format, and then read it when you are done.
After reading, you can Utucu-> Verify DNG file (library–> Validate DNG files) as follows to ensure that every DNG document is available, but bad files should not be common.
When you edit a photo, you should find that it's a lot faster, even if you zoom in to 100% to deal with the details, you don't have to wait too long. However, the Lightroom preset deletes the 1:1 preview after 30 days, and if you want to save it, you can go to edit-> directory Settings-> document processing (edit–> Catalog settings–> file handling) to change the settings (pictured below).
According to the photographer, the disadvantage of converting to dng to fix a picture:
1 You need more time to read the file, by other than just copy raw documents. But if you read the picture, you can leave the computer, do other work, and let it finish at once, which saves the processing time of each photo.
2 Not all software support DNG documents, especially about the camera brand's own repair software.
As for the benefits of using DNG:
1) DNG is smaller than the general raw document and can save up to 20% of the capacity.
2 inline file validation to see if the document is available and not damaged.
In short, the workflow is when you take a good picture of raw, using the card reader inserted into the computer, directly to Lightroom read, copy into raw files, stored in the computer, according to the steps and settings in the text, you can enjoy a higher processing speed.
