This article describes how to set the PostType custom document type in WordPress. Setting the background document type is a special feature of WordPress. However, the built-in document type is often insufficient, for more information, see
What is custom post?
Don't take it for granted that post here refers to a blog post. It is just an article-type proxy word. You can even think of it as content.
There is no standard custom model. The article model can be any content model you want. wordpress itself has the following built-in Article models:
- Blog posts
- Page
- Attachment
- Correction
- Navigation
You can understand it as long as it is a flexible form of content that we want to use as blog articles to create, edit, and store data.
However, I still need to remind you that the built-in post of the blog is a little different. You can use it to identify the content by category or tag!
Why do we need to customize the article model?
Wordpress already provides some well-developed default Article models that are applicable to most sites, but we still need more options. I have listed some of the content models that I have come up with that may be useful and linked to the corresponding examples.
- Real estate list
- Activity Calendar (I know many people are interested in this)
- Video and video database
- Books Database
- No Forum systems with many integration problems
- Ticketing system similar to WordPress Trac
- Design album or portfolio
You can also think of more content models beyond my list. And I want to study later.
