Tip: data may be lost during the conversion of basic disks and dynamic disks. Therefore, back up the data in advance to prevent data loss.
Converting a basic disk to a dynamic disk
1. open "My Computer"-"computer management"-"Disk Management" and select the basic disk to be converted (disk 0 as shown in the figure below ), right-click and choose convert to dynamic disk from the menu that appears ";
2. Confirm as prompted in the following figure to complete the conversion;
3. As shown in the following figure, the status of disk 0 is dynamic in disk management.
Convert a dynamic disk to a basic disk
1. if it is a dynamic disk where the Win7 system is located, right-click the disk and choose "convert to basic disk" from the shortcut menu. This menu is unavailable and cannot be used to convert a dynamic disk to a basic disk. If the disk is a non-system dynamic disk, you can delete all the volumes and select "convert to basic disk". The operation procedure is similar to converting a basic disk to a dynamic disk, do not go into details (this method will delete all data ).
2. The following describes a lossless conversion method using third-party software (Ao Mei Partition Assistant) in Win7. Run the Ao Mei Partition Assistant and click the dynamic disk converter;
3. Select the conversion method "method 1-convert dynamic disk to basic disk" and click "next" as prompted ";
4. Select tick, confirm conversion, and click "execute" to start conversion;
5. After the conversion is complete, click "finish" to restart the computer and go to disk management. Check that the disk has been converted.
In fact, it is very simple to use the built-in functions to achieve mutual conversion.
