Two countries that rely on smart brain power
● Xue laicai
There are two countries in the world who love reading books most. One is Israel and the other is Hungary.
Israel reads 64 million books per year, and more than 80% of Jews read 68 books per year. The Jews have a convention. When a child is born, the mother opens the Bible and drops some honey to let the child lick the honey in the Bible, let the children have a good first impression on the book: The book is sweet. When the child is a little sensible, almost every mother will ask the following question: "If one day your home suddenly caught fire, what would you first rescue ?" When the answer is money or diamond, the mother will seriously tell him: "These are not important. The first thing you should rescue is books! There is wisdom in the book, which is much more valuable than money or diamond, and no one can afford it ." As a result, Jews are the only people in the world who are not illiterate. Even Jews cannot leave books. Even if they are begging, they will always carry the books that must be read every day, let alone people with no worries about food and clothing. In Israel, books and periodicals are very expensive. Each book costs more than $20 and each newspaper costs more than $6. However, ordinary Israel is very generous in purchasing books and subscribing to newspapers and periodicals. In this country, which has only 5 million people, the country holds the largest number of books in the world, and has more than 1 million people with a library certificate.
"Security day" is a very important religious activity day for the Jews of Israel. On the "day of the Day", all Jews will stop all commercial and recreational activities, shops, restaurants, entertainment, and other places must be closed, buses must be shut down, and airline flights must be shut down. People can only stay at home and pray. But one thing is licensed, that is, all bookstores in the country can open their doors. This day, most people visited the bookstore, and everyone was quietly reading here.
Another country, Hungary, has a land area and population of less than 1% of China's population, but has nearly 20 thousand libraries. On average, every 500 people has a library, in China, an average of 0.459 million people own a library. On average, Hungary buys 20 books per year, while in China's 1990s s, there were only 5 books per year on average, which is still declining.
Of course, a country that advocates reading and learning will be rewarded with wealth. Israel's population is scarce, but its talents are excellent. There are eight Nobel Prize winners. Israel is in a bad environment and most of the land is desert. Arab countries like Palestine do not have enough food to eat, and they need to exchange oil for food, however, Israel has turned its land into an oasis, and the food produced not only cannot be eaten but is continuously exported to other countries. With their intelligence and wisdom, they create amazing material and spiritual wealth.
In Hungary, there are 14 Nobel Prize winners. If we calculate by the proportion of the population, Hungary is a well-deserved "Nobel Prize Winner ". They have also made many inventions, including small objects such as matches and ballpoint pens, as well as cutting-edge products such as telephone switches, transformer, carburetor, and television picture tubes. It is said that the 1980s s were the golden age of invention by Hungary, with an average of more than 400 invention patents each year. A small country gains wisdom and strength for its love of reading books. By virtue of wisdom and strength, it turns itself into an unacceptable "power ".
One scholar said: the history of a person's spiritual development should be a person's reading history, and the spiritual realm of a nation depends largely on the reading level of the whole nation; who is reading and reading books in a country determines the future of the country. The so-called "reading changes life and knowledge changes fate ". Reading not only affects individuals, but also the whole nation and society. Some people lamented: "Today, there are more people who can read, but fewer people can read ." Many people spend their precious time in cup change, playing cards, dancing, and other entertainment activities, but they do not want to take the time to read several good books seriously. You must know that a nation that does not like reading is a fearful one. A nation that does not like reading is a one without hope.
