The following content is based on the network information collected, not my original.

I have a netbook, Lenovo S9, connected to the network through the telecom evdo. There is also a M10 instance that has not purchased hardware NICs and expense cards. Is there a way to achieve wireless Internet access through M10 through the Internet shared S9 instance, the answer is yes, but there is a prerequisite for such sharing, that is, both computers have wifi (Wireless Network) modules.

The following describes the specific process: This method is also suitable for one of the network has been connected to the TD-SCDMA/WCDMA. The settings are the same.

HOST: S9

The other one needs to access the Internet; M10

Step 1: Right-click "Network Neighbor" on the S9 desktop and select "properties ".

Step 2: In the open network connection window, we will see the wireless network connection icon. Because the current computer is not connected to any wireless network, the connection icon displays "not connected ".

Step 3: Right-click the wireless network connection icon and choose Properties ".

Step 4: Find the "wireless network configuration" tab in the wireless network Connection Properties window.

Step 5: click "advanced" under the wireless network configuration tab to open the advanced window. By default, "network to be accessed" is any available network (preferred access point ), we changed it to "computer-only (specific )"

Step 6: Confirm and perform Step 5 again. This time, locate the "regular" label. Find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click "properties.

Step 7: In the Properties window, set an IP address for the wireless network card. This article describes how to set this IP address because the PC is connected to one another through the wireless network card, because there is no DHCP service in the network as we use a wireless router, IP addresses can be automatically allocated. In this example, the IP address is 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. You do not need to enter other IP addresses (DNS can also be set to 192.169.0.1 ).

Step 8: Create a wireless virtual AP. This step is the key. Repeat Step 7 and click "add" in the wireless network configuration tab.

Step 9: Enter the following information in the association tag in the pop-up window, including the network name SSID. The input is AA (the name is set at will ), in the following wireless network key, select "open" for network verification and set data encryption to "disabled ". This method is similar to the SSID broadcast in a wireless router and data transmission is protected without any encrypted information.

(Because many articles do not support encryption, we recommend that you use the preceding method. However, I did choose data encryption here: web, and set a five-digit password, and also succeeded .)

Step 10: After confirmation, the virtual AP is established. We can see the network created by AA through the wireless network search tool that comes with XP, the information displayed is "the network from a computer with no security mechanism set to a computer ".

Now the operation on computer S9 is complete. We have successfully established a virtual AP, and we will wait for other computers to connect to the virtual AP.

The following are settings for M10 on the computer:

In fact, many operations are the same as those on S9. We need to set IP addresses and other information for M10 wireless network connections. The IP address filled in by the author is 192.168.0.2 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Of course, you must be sure to belong to a network segment with the IP address on S9, so that communication can be normal after the wireless network is successfully connected.

(The above is the original article, but in actual operation, the IP address connected to the M10 wireless network does not need to be manually set, and the default IP address can be automatically obtained directly .) Similarly, select "computer-only" for wireless network connection-properties-wireless network configuration-advanced ".

After setting, search for the network on M10 and you will see the wireless network with the SSID name AA.

Double-click AA to connect. The status will automatically change to "connected". (If the AP of S9 is encrypted, enter the password set in S9 to connect .)

We can ping the S9 address in M10 (IP Address: 192.168.0.2), which indicates that the wireless network established between the two computers is unobstructed. Similarly, all network operations are the same as those with a wired network. A Prompt window is displayed when you access the peer computer.

At this time, we can view the wireless icon in the lower-right corner of each computer and find that "wireless network connection, speed 54 Mbps, signal strength is very good, and the status is connected ".

At this point, file transfer, resource sharing, and even online playing games are the same as those of wired networks. We have also completed the task of Connecting PCs to PCs using wireless network cards.

Finally, you can set up sharing on the properties of your wireless network card. Specific operations:

Find the NIC in the dial, here I am USB-KEY dial, right click Properties, and then click the advanced tag, under Internet Connection Sharing, select the "allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this computer" check box, and select "wireless network connection" in the drop-down box below ". Click OK. It will find that the original USB-KEY dial name with a few more words "shared ".

In this way, connect to the Internet by dialing S9, search for a wireless network on M10, find AA, and connect to the Internet. It is equivalent to a home router.

However, it should be added that if the S9 capital card is net (China Mobile Unicom and China Telecom are divided into net and WAP), M10 can access the Internet like S9 without any proxy, if the S9 card is in WAP mode, then M10 needs to use a proxy to access the Internet. That is to say, if your S9 proxy is in the same way, M10 also needs the same proxy to achieve the same effect.

Note: ensure that the two machines are in the same working group.

This is relatively easy to ignore, because the default working groups of many machines are the same, and it is okay not to set them, so many people forget to explain the importance of this process when writing their own sharing process. It is best to set both the host and slave, in the order of my computer: properties-computer name-change-select workgroup-set to mshome (or other, as long as the two machines are the same) -- OK -- OK. It may need to be restarted. Both machines must be set to the same.

Question: I have just learned some questions, but I still have some questions.

1. Can a host be transmitted to only one slave machine, or can it be accessed within the valid range?

2. If a USB WiFi module is installed on the desktop, can it share the network with the laptop?
