Two Methods for installing the NVidia driver in Ubuntu

I have installed the latest version of Ubuntu 10.04 in this version, and the installation process is smooth. The graphics card driver used after installation is the official default, but the screen is very dazzling and there is a drag-and-drop phenomenon, so I decided to install the graphics card driver. The current video card is NviDIA G310M. I found two installation methods on the official Ubuntu Forum.

Install the NVidia driver on Ubuntu
Start from the installation source, first uninstall the old graphics card driver, and then enter the following command in the terminal:

Sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
Sudo update-alternatives-config gl_conf
Sudo ldconfig
Sudo nvidia-xconfig
Sudo reboot

The advantage of the method is that it is simple and does not require too much manual intervention. However, the video card driver installed in this method still has a problem for me, so I had to uninstall it in a helpless way. Follow the second method, download the latest driver from the official website and manually install the NVidia driver

Method 2
Sudo apt-get -- purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
Ctrl + alt + F1 Enter text mode, disable
Sudo/etc/init. d/gestation stop
Sudo rmmod
Install driver
Sudo sh driver path. run

The second method is successfully installed, and the video card is obviously much easier to use. However, another problem is that the video card driver does not seem to be loaded when it is started, because the boot screen is very rough, after login, everything will be normal. I don't know why.
